Named after the founder’s mother, and based on family recipes handed down for generations, Little Anita’s is an Albuquerque institution. Our iconic flagship restaurant, in the heart of Old Town, is beloved by locals and a must-visit for any tourist. You haven’t been to Albuquerque if you haven’t eaten at Little Anita’s.
Our menu hasn’t changed much in the last four decades, and we’re proud of it. In a fast-moving world, our restaurants are an oasis of tradition and sentimental cooking. When it comes to our signature dishes, we like to keep things simple. We believe in the purity of our ingredients and keep a clean flavor profile. You won’t find your food overloaded with seasoning and your taste buds won’t be overwhelmed with spiciness.
Relaxed regional chain serving Southwestern specialties from breakfast through dinner.

Wonderful experience! The staff were available and responsive. The take-out area was spotless, and the food looked amazing. The sopaipillas were absolute perfection! I’ll be back just for those! The red chile on the chicken enchiladas was rich and comforting, though I’d love a bit more kick next time.

I would have rated this restaurant higher were there more than five stars. Very clean, atmosphere is fabulous, service is polite, personal and efficient, and the food is simply delicious. There’s a large selection too. Trust me on this, if you have to choose one restaurant, choose Little Anita’s! A local business owner sent us and bless her for it!!

The tamales at El Modelos are superior. These tamales were dry and thick wrap of corn. They do need to be smothered in sauce and arent capable of standing alone. The beans were better than average and the rice is not worth mentioning. The price was confusing I felt like I got ripped off. The menu said 12 dollars and they charged me 17 almost 8 dollars for 2 tamales. This place is not worth eating at because they arent honest.

Came here for the sopaipillas. Fantastic and grabbed some more to go for the road. Wasn’t even that hungry but the smells made me order more food than I needed. It was solid! Service was great. The place had a classic kitschy type of vibe.

So the Mrs and I were out and about again sampling restaurants to see who we wanted to cater our wedding. Little Anitas was recommended by family and figured why not. First thing I personally noticed was the parking, during a rush or peak tine it could be quite difficult to find a spot there. The restaurant is kinda out front on a corner but sits on a road that if your not paying attention to could wind up in an accident. Which is exactly what happened to someone while I was parking, I digress however.
Seated quickly, atmosphere is nice and welcoming and the staff were quite friendly. Food was ok, I got a hamburger Mrs. got enchiladas (lol) again but overall that was really it. It was ok, nothing either of us would write home about but the friendliness of the staff offsets that in our minds at least. We decided not to procure their services but would not steer people away from the place. Different strokes for different folks and all that, one man’s trash etc.. We didn’t tey everything on the menu but had a few samples of the chiles brought out. Had some stew, some sopapilla’s (which were quite good, not too heavy on the flour) and a few drinks to cap off the visit.

We were starving while getting to know the city. Still we want to be impressed. This place did not disappoint, in fact we were impressed.
I had combination #2 and Jill had the shredded beef quesadillas (see picture). Good food!
We came by at 5pm on a Wednesday. It is quite perfect for us. The Margeritas were good, but the food really shined!
Also complimentary sopapillas and honey at the end

This establishment was highly recommended by a very sweet lady we met while traveling.
Unfortunately, the food was almost inedible.
Yes, if you put enough cheese on something, it makes it better.
The Cheese was great, and there was a lot of it which we loved!
The rice tasted like it was from a boiled bag, and the beans tasted like they were from a can with some spices to hide the tin flavor.
The red sauce was better than the green.
The beef taco had no flavor. The meat was like a mashed up seasonless burger.
We had great service! The employees were very hospitable! The take out area was missing decor but overall clean.
The carry out dishes were plated beautifully.
The soppillias(sp?) were undeniably perfect!
You can’t get those anywhere else that tastes that good.
We will be back just for those!

It’s rare that I give a cruel low rating all around but this meal tonight was terrible from seating, to service to food. It screams bad management when all aspects are unacceptable. The place was 80% empty. 3 of us seated but we only got 2 menus. When we asked for another, the response was, ‘if I can find one’. Weird. The place is empty? 25 minutes to get 2 drink orders at the table and 1 never came until I got up to find the server. Asked if there was a hot salsa to go with the chips the answer was, “Do you want Tobasco? ” Three different meals, 1 was like warm grizzle bits of steak, 1 was flavorless shredded beef and 1 was ice cold chili rellenos. This location in ABQ needs a serious reboot.

Usually use this place for take out. Had some out of town guests and decided to sit and eat. Our waiter, Edward, said it was his first day taking orders. He did amazing. He answered questions and smiled. The food was delicious and came out pretty quick. Sopapillas were fresh and hot. Cannot wait to come eat here again. They’ve improved themselves. Keep up the great customer service!

The food was amazing, but what really made our visit unforgettable was our server. He was incredibly kind, genuine, and went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
He knew we were from out of town and surprised us with a few dishes to try on the house. On top of that, he gave us great local recommendations that we actually ended up checking out. Hands down one of the best service experiences we’ve had—he truly made the whole night.
