From the second we walked in, we felt like family. Such a cute little shop with the warmest, most welcoming energy — the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. My friends Jorge and Sue referred us here, and now I understand why they spoke so highly of it. The food was unreal — fresh bread, stacked portions, and made with real care and pride. This isn’t just a sub shop, it’s a place that actually cares about people and quality. We’re so grateful for the recommendation and will absolutely be coming back again and again. Support spots like this — they’re special.

Can’t make a sandwich right, ordered an American mix with bacon. No roast beef and she forgot the bacon. Watched another girl make the complete wrong sandwich but at least she ended up making the right one for the guy.

Fantastic Italian deli I was lucky enough to discover today. Highly recommend the homemade roast beef and the prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sub. Look forward to returning!

If anyone wants a nice fresh cut sub, this is this place.

I normally do not drive up Van Vranken, but today I did…. boy, was I glad I did. Parking is a little difficult, especially if you’re a first timer like me….. but once you go, you’ll know where to park.

You go in, and you’re greeted by staff behind the counter. The deli is bright and very clean. They have all you Italian cooking needs on and around the shelves. It was about 4 to 5 people in front of me, but they were quick on moving people through. The young lady asked what I wanted ….I do my normal “surprise, I don’t want to know.” She smiles, and I got something for you…

I had no clue until I opened it up, and it was stacked with 3 different meats, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, salt / pepper … and the best part roasted red peppers…TDF

Don’t take my word for it.
. Go try it yourself. You won’t be disappointed…

Thank you, guys, for making my 1st experience a good one, cause I will be coming back !!

Always phenomenal at La Gioia! I got a prosciutto sandwich with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. Went home and added some homemade pesto to it and it was perfect. They are so generous with the meat, and everyone is so friendly. The new space looks great.

First time going here. I ordered an Italian mix sub and it was delicious and the bread was great. They don’t skimp on the meat, it was piled on. The women behind the counter were friendly and courteous. I will be going back when in the area.

Inside is a standard Italian market/deli. First timer during lunch, didn’t have to wait long. Ordered the Italian mix (half-sub) and a bottle of Pepsi. $7. Even though it wasn’t busy the counter gal put my sub in a brown bag and didn’t give me a napkin. Perhaps that cost extra? Subs don’t come with lettuce, onion and tomato unless you ask AND pay more for it. Seems wrong but it’s their business and they get to run it as they see fit. The actual sub was pretty damn good. The meat and cheese was fresh sliced ( Boar’s Head) and the roll was fresh and tasty. Worth stopping in if you are in the area and want a sub for lunch.

Italian mix with roasted red peppers and prosciutto was likely the best sub ive ever had. The amount of meat is unparalleled. It was basically a titanic meat boat! Bread is amazing, but small, which I love because I’m a guy who watches his carbs. The quality was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Great family working there with an amazing little store. Highly recommend pairing a nice dry red wine with this sub!!!
