I ordered food delivered to my home 2 days consecutively. I expected a basic “steakum’ on a roll with cheese wiz and some other cheese, because that is what the picture looks like but to my surprise it was anything but that. Now, I am a self proffesed “Cheesesteak Connisseur”….not only being from the city of brotherly love but also working at a private swim club’s eatery for 3 summers making thousands if them, and also eating them from different locations including restaurants, bars, hotels, malls and even my old H.S. in Drexel Hill, PA. I’ve eaten good ones and bad ones all throughout the US from NY to FL to Los Angeles to Washington state. Now when I made my order and couldn’t get the cheese wiz (or whatever kind of cheese the orangish colored product is) removed from the app where I ordered it from and was kind of annoyed….but I was also desperate because I haven’t had a Philly Cheesesteak since returned to LA from an 8 month stay in Philly last year. The “second rate” Cheesesteak not on an Amaroso roll was just going to have to be the ticket for the evening. It arrived…..it was in nice small paper “designer shopping bag” (lol) with a sticker that closed it shut. O opened the bag and there was a nice container holding what I had temporarily accepted as a Cheesesteak. I opened the lid and…..it actually smelled pretty good. I then lifted the bun top and took a wiff….I didn’t smell that pungent 80’s cheese wiz smell at all. I saw a decent amount of cheese, onions, peppers and well cooked and not burnt chopped sheesesteak. I was surprisingly interested in taking the 1st bite. I put a minimal amount of Heinz unsalted ketchup on it and took my first bite. It definitly ranked amongst the top 10 I have ever tasted which includes 3 of my own. I was seriously impressed. In fact it was sooo tasty that I ordered another the very next evening. Folks, if you want a treat yourself and your family to a cheesesteak….stop reading this and order your cheesesteak from “Pardon My Cheesesteak” right now!
