We visited Olive Garden on Newport Highway with a party of 12 for a birthday celebration. We made the reservation early—4:30 p.m.—specifically to beat the dinner rush and allow for proper service for such a large group. We called ahead and made a reservation so the restaurant would be prepared, and we were seated promptly when we arrived.
The food itself was good, but the service was extremely disorganized from start to finish. We were told we’d have one main server plus two training servers, which could have worked well, except there appeared to be no coordination between them at all. One of the training servers disappeared shortly after taking our order and never really returned.
There were also several basic service missteps. One guest had her plate taken without a word while she was still eating. Drink service was inconsistent—Sprites were refilled with water, and one drink arrived with a noticeable greasy film on top.
When it was time to leave, one server boxed half the table while the rest of us waited about 15 minutes for another server to show up. Two people didn’t get boxes at all until we were nearly ready to leave, despite repeatedly using the “call server” button on the tablet.
The birthday dessert situation was especially disappointing. The birthday girl was given a tablet to choose her dessert, but the system wouldn’t actually let her place the order. Because of the long delay, the dessert never came out with a candle, and we weren’t able to have a proper birthday moment. We ended up singing to her on our own—without the dessert or a candle—after already waiting around 20 minutes just to get boxes and the check.
One server in particular, Ray, was very attentive and clearly did his best under the circumstances. He genuinely tried to keep things moving and even mentioned how chaotic it was having three servers assigned without a clear plan. Unfortunately, the overall lack of coordination overwhelmed even his efforts.
Given how clearly things were falling apart, a manager should have been more involved in overseeing the table and stepping in to correct the issues. Overall, this felt like a complete breakdown in communication and teamwork. The food was fine, but the lack of organization turned what should have been a simple birthday dinner into a frustrating experience. For a large group with a reservation, the service should have been much better.

I ordered the Eggplant parmigiana and the Chicken Gnocchi soup which was super delicious w the endless bread sticks. Kyle was extremely attentive and friendly. Great customer service.

Olive Garden in general just scratches that slight Italian food itch and fills you up for a decent price.
The salad is good, the soups are good, the breadsticks are good, and the pastas are good. If you happen to get the Unlimited Pasta deal when it’s available, it’s for sure an excellent value for the amount of food you get, even if you pay the small premium to add protein. I was hungry and still only managed to get only one refill, along with my soup and breadsticks to be comfortable full.
Real quick, I rank the proteins that were available as fried chicken cutlet, then Italian sausage, then meatballs.

Love this location of Olive Garden. The food never misses. Our server whom I believe was Kyle was very lovely. He attended us so well. I’ve never had service as fast as I have at Olive Garden. The shrimp Alfredo always hits. Please tell the cooks that I love them

I loved the vibe of the place, the decor, the designs on the walls, there was even a little olive tree decor! It was also surprisingly quick and only took 10-20 minutes. The employees are also very nice and I would come back here some time soon.

What can I say, I love OG! Had a date with my handsome hubby and we both decided to try something new. For me it was fab but for my honey, it was way too spicy. Flavor was good but just too spicy. Our server was the sweetest, kindest women. OG took the plate away and took it off the check. They are still top notch in my book.

Parking is close by the front door, very clean and welcoming when you walk in with no waiting!
The meals are slightly overpriced for the quality, my pasta noodles were overcooked unfortunately. They offer endless soup or salad as well as bread sticks which is amazing because you leave full no matter what just on the sides even.
The servings were large but the pasta sauce was less than what I expected for such a large plate of pasta but they are willing to take the plate to fix your entree.
It’s very nice and warm, comforting even while dining. My only issue was the waiter was no where to be found when I wanted to get more water, soup, salad or bread sticks which did disappoint me having that lack of service from a place that’s a bit fancy.

I was looking for somewhere to take my wife on a date we just recently had a second child and it has been tough for us to have some time together. We used to go in dates every single month. And as I was out and about looking for somewhere to go that was nice I had stopped at the Texas Roadhouse and Red Robin. When I stop by the Texas Roadhouse I was greeted like I wasn’t supposed to be there. The waitress at the front door asked what I was doing there and how they could help me. The only thing they offer is food so I felt like it was a pretty rhetorical question. So I left. I went to Red Robin. I was not greeted for 15 minutes of standing there. Then when I got up and asked how long the wait was going to be they said oh about half an hour as they greeted other people and let them in. Feeling a little upset I tried one final option and that was the Olive garden at Newport highway. I was a little upset when I entered the facility but the atmosphere and tone of the staff instantaneously changed that. Not only was I able to be seated immediately I went back out to let my wife know there was no wait and they said that they were already getting the high chair for my baby. The environment was so upbeat and fun. Our servers name was Amber and she was amazing. From the moment I entered to the moment I left I felt truly like I was family. It wasn’t something that everyone felt like they were forcing it felt genuine and a great place to be. The food was 10 out of 10. The service was 100 out of 10. And it was so clean upbeat the Christmas music and jazz music with the Christmas vibes was just so perfect for me and my little family. To add to this once we left a server ran out of the building trying to run down one of the cars that had forgotten their drinks with lids for their kids. Ran all the way out of their own personal parkway to the neighboring parking lot to try and catch them. The service here is literally the best I’ve ever had in Washington state. Thank you very much for an amazing date night and great memory! P.s Amber deserves a raise!!

I think I got profiled? I’m a tall 30something male with my mom and her husband.
I love this place and the food is great and I don’t wanna down talk the cooks or anything, the food is really good. I’ve been here 10 or 12 times, but most recently I got profiled and ignored service.
There were dozens of open tables but when I approached with a party of 3 I was told to sit to the side and wait…which we did.
In the mean time over 25 people were seated immediately that followed behind us in line. In party sizes ranging from one to eight.
After about 10+ min we just left as we were the only people sitting around in the waiting area and we were never acknowledged once.
It’s very unfortunate as we all love this place.
