My mom and I had a great meal at Chuy’s on Westheimer. It’s always a fun, lively spot, and this visit did not disappoint.
The New Mexican martinis are amazing — just the perfect amount of spice with that briny olive flavor balancing the lime and tequila. If you like a little kick in your cocktail, this one is a must.
I ordered the fajitas, and they were top notch. They came out sizzling and were cooked perfectly. And of course, the creamy jalapeño sauce was the real star of the show — as always! It’s impossible not to keep going back for just one more dip.
One thing I especially love about this location is that it’s decorated in the classic, eclectic style of the original Austin Chuy’s — not the newer, more streamlined look you see in some locations since the buyout. It has that quirky, colorful Texas charm that makes the experience feel nostalgic and authentic.
Great food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.

Had gone to Chuy’s in another state a while ago and wanted to try it in Texas. Had a Steak Burrito and a Deluxe Chicken Enchilada, which were good but the steak was a bit chewy. Also had guacamole with the complimentary chips that were served with salsa fresca and creamy jalapeno; liked the chips and all the dippings but the guacamole portion was too big for just the two of us so we wish they had a half size. Service was friendly and fast. Atmosphere was fun with lots of neat deco; remembered there was a connection about Elvis Presley. Good Tex-Mex here but there are so many competitors in Houston and it is hard to decide who we like best.

Rachel Chou was our waitress who took care of us 4 at the Westheimer location! We celebrated my dad’s birthday and had some delish veggie entrees and Churro bites to celebrate. First time at this Chuy’s and it was really nice. I don’t know if it was time of day or what, but there was no wait time at all to get seated. The waiter kept bringing us chips and the yummy ranch dip (seriously refilling when we were only half way through it). Drinks were refilled fast as well and all of our food came out great!

The food and service is always great here. My favorite sauce, the Boom Boom sauce is so delicious their creamy jalapeno sauce. The prices have continued to stay reasonable. Therefore, they will continue to get my business.

I’ve always enjoyed the eclectic feel of a Chuy’s restaurant and the delightful texmex flavors.
But today I was more impressed by David than by the food. Anymore when I frequent a restaurant the server does their job, but David made it feel like a craft. He was detail-oriented and quick. He didn’t fiddle with writing down an order and he remembered some of my uncommon requests as a weekly commuter who eats out more often than I’d like but have developed some preferences to stay healthy while still enjoying my food.
Thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience and especially the service. To David: Thank you for demonstrating excellence in all you do!
