Favorite place to get Mexican in town.
Owner was a worker here who bought out from previous owner, so you know he cares about the place and customers. You really feel like family when you come here.
Ordering is simple, go up to the counter and then sit down and wait for your food to be brought to you.
I almost always go for the whole fried fish. It’s nice and smokey and not oily at all. You pull pieces off and eat with tortillas, rice, and beans. Will really fill you up. Don’t worry about getting dirty and really get in there. And don’t forget the softest part, the pieces behind the cheeks!

Very authentic Mexican food. Good portions, fair prices, and very nice people…owners and staff. This will be a regular stop for me!

Great spot. I’m starting to believe that good Mexican food just doesn’t exist outside of California or Mexico. I struggle to find it anywhere else but it seems like every town in the state of CA has at least two epic spots for it.
I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito and Nachos and both were outstanding. The meat was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The blending of flavors were very tasty and the service was great. We’ll hit this spot whenever we’re in town.

Salsa made fresh daily in house, aguas frescas, corn tortillas that don’t fall apart while holding your taco in your hand. What more could you want?
3 tacos and an agua fresca for $11 left me feeling more than satisfied. El Maizal also offers a selection of beers if that’s what you’re looking for. I’m grateful to have found this place for a delicious, price-conscious lunch.

Excellent and authentic tacos with great salsas. The roja with roasted tomatoes, the verde with small tomatillos. Small touches like the wall murals and decor add to the atmosphere.

I called an order in was told 30 min. Arrived in 40min and waited in line only to be told they need more time and to step aside. About near the hour mark is when I was able to get my food and pay. Food was good but don’t call in as the people who dine in get their food in 15min or less and anyone who calls it’s over an hour. I spoke to the owner who told me its usually 1hr+ wait time for phone orders(what’s the point of calling in to save time?). Overall good food the owner attitude wasnt good or happy and did not care for the most part. You be the judge but I’m not sure I’ll be back.

I don’t recommend this to place to anyone. Worst service I’ve ever had. They make you feel uncomfortable and awkward when asking for anything. Make sure you always check your bill they are sketchy. They are so stingy with anything you asked for. Food and drink are overpriced and food isn’t even good. This place is really dirty and bathrooms are nasty.

Such a great Mexican restaurant. The surface is so great. They are such wonderful people. The food is always delicious. I’ve probably eaten there about 18 times and it’s never been bad. They’re sauces. Great. They’re fresh. Tortillas are great.
