Definitely a pricier option for some frozen water and sweet syrup – but I had to try it anyway – we’re in Hawaii after all! Like others have mentioned, the portion sizes are quite large. So if you want a lot of shaved ice and enjoy really sweet flavors, this is probably for you! The ice cream dollop on the side was much better than the shaved ice imo, so I wish I’d gone with that instead. There are restrooms nearby and they can validate parking, so all good there! If you don’t mind paying more for a place that has relatively good reviews, give it a try!

Oh my GOD this place is good.
This is our first time visiting Hawaii and we had to try shaved ice of course.
This place is so so good. The location is awesome and the girls working are very friendly.
I’ve tried the lilikoi sour and the strawberry and they were both unreal.
Portion sizes are huge (could definitely share with another person).
Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious! I stopped at Gecko Girlz for shaved ice and it did not disappoint. I honestly don’t know how they make the ice so soft and fluffy — it’s amazing! I had Hawaiian Blue (not my personal favorite, but that’s just me) and pineapple, which was incredible. The flavors were so fresh and full of that perfect island sweetness.
My friend had ice cream in a waffle cone and loved it too — everything here is top-notch. I was thrilled to learn they use cane sugar instead of artificial sweeteners, which makes it taste even better.
This place is definitely a must-try while on the island. I’m actually glad I didn’t discover it until our last day, because I’d have been back every single day. It’s that good!

Overpriced and very artificial flavors, but the ambiance was nice. There was a volleyball game, live music, and an overall fun atmosphere. Also, the presentation of the snow cones was beautiful. Their roasted coconut was yummy too. Unfortunately, I still cannot recomend this establishment because of the snow cone’s taste.

I loved the passion fruit sour with li hing powder. The passion fruit and powder worked so well together, and the mochi was a nice addition. Not sure I need the vanilla ice cream next time but it did add a good creaminess to some bites.

Great little spot near a sand volleyball court. You can see the ocean and watch the sunset while having an amazing treat. Both the Emile cream and the shaved ice was so delicious. The fresh flavors are definitely the way to go, and all the staff was super kind and gave great recommendations.

Great place for shave ice! They went a little heavy on the syrup, but it tasted great. Helps somewhat knowing the syrup is all natural, i.e. no high fructose corn syrup. The Lava Flow included a scoop of coconut ice cream and the ice cream was great too.
The shave ice is fluffy, not crunchy like a snow cone, which is awesome.
The Lava Flow includes bobo-style balls. Balls were better after they were chilled.
Two girls were running the stand and they were pleasant to talk to and very accommodating.
They could use a closer trash can.

We ordered the shark bite shave ice and Kona mud pie ice cream and both were delicious! The syrup on the shave ice is made from real fruit and actually tastes fresh! The ice cream was also tasty. Portions were great for the price and the service was also very solid. Definitely would come back here again before we leave Kona!

The shave ice itself is great, but we must have gone at the wrong time. There was only one employee working and taking a great deal of time to work through the orders. We submitted one order while the rest of our party was deciding, and then waited ~30 minutes to get the first ices. It took so long the rest of our group didn’t even want to order anymore. Again, the shave ice is good, just wish there was better management of either the staffing or the pace at which orders get fulfilled. Ended up being a bit of a buzz kill on the afternoon.
