Tamarind offers a modern, high-end Indian dining experience with beautifully presented dishes and a vibrant atmosphere. We ordered achari chicken tikka and grilled portobello mushroom, which were outstanding. Drinks are creative and pair nicely with the food.
Service was friendly and helpful, though it could be a bit slow at times. The live music adds energy to the space, but it can get quite loud, which may not suit everyone.
Some dishes felt slightly underwhelming for the price, and portion sizes on a few items could be more generous. That said, the rasmalai dessert was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, a solid spot for elevated Indian cuisine with great ambiance and a few standout menu items. Would return to explore more of the menu.

I’m usually skeptical of Indian restaurants, as many tend to taste identical, but Tamarind surprised me in the best way. We ordered the mixed tandoori grill along with the Punjabi mutton and naan. The portions were generous, and every dish tasted amazing
Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for high-quality Indian food in Mississauga!
We visited on a Friday when they had live music, which was a nice touch and added to the ambience. For food, the Amritsari Fish Fry was excellent and definitely the highlight of our meal. The Chennai Chicken 65 and Chicken Biryani were both good and flavorful. For drinks, we ordered Thums Up (classic Indian cola) which was fine, but the Qasbah Garden mocktail was below average.
The biggest issue was the service. Despite clearly requesting that our drinks be served with the starters, they arrived much later. There were significant delays throughout — I had to personally go and remind them to serve the biryani after waiting around 45 minutes. We also noticed other customers visibly frustrated; one couple even left due to delays in their food. At one point, there seemed to be arguments happening near the kitchen where orders were being dispatched.
It appeared that the restaurant was understaffed, which likely contributed to the poor coordination and slow service.
Overall, the food has potential, but the service needs major improvement. Definitely not a Michelin-guided level experience.
The smoky presentation of the Pani Puri is fun but didn’t make up for the rest of the experience. Not really inclined to go back as there are better alternatives around.
The service was also poor. The server took my plate before I finished eating. She came several times to remove plates and even picked up glasses without asking. It looked like she wanted us to finish the meal quickly. I asked for a larger plate for the starter and she reacted with irritation.
I spent 110 CAD and left unhappy. The evening felt ruined. Do not go to Tamarind if you want value for your money. Mishree is far better. Tandoori Flame and Keality Indian Buffet also give you a good experience.
