My father used to take me here as a child about 50 years ago when it was called Mom Bowie’s. I understand it’s been Bobby’s kitchen roadside Cafe for about the past 12 years.
First time I’ve stopped in here in decades, service was excellent food was good reasonably priced, you should stop in and give it a try.
Fast food, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, etc is no longer of value, for about the same price of these fast food restaurants and their junk food, we got some good restaurant home-cooked sit-down got weighted on service, much better bargain.

Found this cafe on the way home from Westmoreland State Park and thought we’d give it a try. I’m glad we decided to stop there too. The food was good, the place was clean, the staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable. We ordered 2 of their specials, one being the fried catfish, and the other being the fried clam and shrimp poboy. Yum! I’m glad we found this place and will return on our next visit to that neck of the woods. Give this place a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Absolutely loved Bobby K’s! My salad was very fresh and the lettuce was so green and crispy. I ordered the 12 shrimp platter. It was so delicious. My husband ordered the Fried Oyster platter ( was the daily special. Didn’t appear to be a regular menu item). He had so many Oysters he had to bring some home. The coleslaw was delicious. ( Wished there had been more!) Lol. He also had the macaroni and cheese. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. The servers were very nice and prompt. At one point we were the only ones in the restaurant. Please stop by if you are in the area. I can’t wait to go back!

Randomly stopped here on our way home from Heathsville. Really glad we decided to stop here instead of keep driving for a chain. The food was delicious American fare. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We had great conversations with the people at the restaurant. We were already planning a trip back down to the area just to stop in the various antique and thrift stores, and we’ll definitely plan to come here again. What we had isn’t on the suggested items, so: I had the mushroom swiss burger with hand cut fries, and he had the “special of the day”, a fried bologna sandwich with the thickest slice of bologna I ever saw. Picture included. I would say a good half inch thick, lol. He said it was the best fried bologna sandwich he’s ever had. My burger was top notch!

Stopped at this roadside cafe and did not regret it. Small town cafe atmosphere, which it was, the server was friendly, personable and good with kids. Had a Cheyenne burger, family had catfish sandwich, kids hot dog, cheese sandwich, and chicken tenders.
First, let me just say my kids are very picky, and there is usually someone that has leftovers because they didn’t like something. This was not the case, in fact all my kids were trying to steal our food. All of the food served was consumed, and everyone left fat and happy. The only real complaint I have is there weren’t any napkins readily available, you have to request them. Though we don’t visit this area often, this will most likely be where we will have at least one meal.

Was our first time eating here. We’re a big family of six and we stopped in on a Saturday evening, we had a new waitress named Skyler (If I remember correctly) and she was so sweet and friendly, did an awesome job! The burgers and fries were delicious, and the apple cake with ice cream was so good! My son had a really yummy patty melt too! The atmosphere was a little plain but clean still. Very home-y like a mom and pop shop. Overall really glad we decided to stop in here on a day trip to colonial beach. Will definitely be back!

I always, ALWAYS go at least once on my trips to the area. Anything I’ve ordered has been wonderful: burgers, salads, sandwiches, etc. The catfish club has actual big piece of local catfish, just delicious. I’ve never gotten a bad meal and I always get some fries AND onion rings! Recently they’ve added fried zucchini and I plan on trying it the next time I’m in the area. The owners are lovely, and it’s just a well-run, clean and pleasant place to enjoy good food.
