Trifecta Pizza, Cup Roni Pizza, Forage Mushrooms, Mozzarella Sticks, Peporroni Mac and Cheese Balls, Wings. 4 people couldn’t polish it off. Will definitely go back. Mushrooms and Trifecta were my favorite.

I was today years old when I learned how delicious Detroit style pizza can be. The crust is addictively delicious. Super thick bust good all the way through. Two squares will fill you up but you’re gonna end up eating 4.

Underground Pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life! The service is phenomenal, everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Also, as someone who usually has tummy issues with pizza, this place is a total game changer. I had no tummy troubles at all, which says a lot.

TLDR: Overpriced, pizza mushy from grease and overall was mediocre. Ordered a Quattro Stagioni. About 20% of the pizza was OK. The crust on the outer aspect was good. The toppings good. Sauce decent. The rest of the pizza wasn’t that great. Saw a lot of 5 star reviews so I initially had some faith, but after my family tasted the pie…. it is not a 5 star pie. This discrepancy makes sense since the general public and college students usually have a terrible palate so take those reviews with a grain of salt. Ordered pickup, so maybe the service is good. This isn’t a BAD pizza it is just middle of the road and it should deliver much more for 32 bucks on a single pizza. Having said that, there is a ton of potential for this to absolutely crush.

Let me start by saying that we have frequented this establishment many times since it first opened. There are many great places to enjoy lunch in the Towson area, and Underground Pizza used to be one of our regular spots. Unfortunately, after our experience today, we will no longer be returning.
We work nearby and have limited time for lunch breaks, so we always place our order online ahead of time so it’s ready when we arrive. This is something we do regularly at many restaurants in the area. We typically pick up our order, find a seat, and enjoy our lunch. Out of the five or so times we have visited, there has rarely been anyone else dining inside.
Today, however, after we sat down, we were told that if you order online the food must be taken “to go.” This rule is not posted anywhere on the website or inside the establishment. When we mentioned that we’ve done this several times before without issue, the person behind the counter seemed annoyed.
We realized we did not have plates, so one of my friends asked the employee for four plates. While looking for them, he mumbled something along the lines of “this is why we don’t do this.” Even if we had been taking the food to go, customers typically receive napkins and utensils with their meals.
We had also ordered fries and asked for ketchup. We were given one small, half-filled dipping container for four people. When I politely asked for three more so everyone could have some, the employee rolled his eyes and again mumbled under his breath, acting as if the request was unreasonable.
Later he approached our table and informed us that outside drinks were not allowed. That’s understandable, and I acknowledged the mistake. However, when we explained that we had done this before without anyone mentioning it, he responded with, “It’s all good. I didn’t kick you out. Let’s not keep talking about it.”
When we later asked for napkins, we were given only three for four people. Considering the price of the pizza, basic customer service and hospitality should not feel like an inconvenience.
The food may be good, but the rude and dismissive attitude we experienced today was unacceptable. There are plenty of other restaurants in the Towson area that appreciate their customers and provide friendly service. Unfortunately, after today’s experience, we will not be returning.

Had such a great experience at the Underground Pizza Co. in Towson.
Shout out to Nina and Dav for literally making FRESH BAKED BREAD for the cheesesteak sandwich! The arancini had such a nice crispy exterior with a great cheese pull. Cook on the wings was phenomenal with a solid buffalo. Definitely recommend for their happy hour specials too.

This food is delicious and the best gluten free crust I’ve ever had. Deep dish with flavorful toppings and the salad was great too. Pizza takes a while to come out due to the deep dish so know in advance. Regular (non gf) pizza was also a hit- had the tradition sauce and pesto.

Came in on a Tuesday afternoon. Was pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness and attentiveness of the employee working the counter. Ordered the Tiger King pizza (the meat lovers). This was my first Detroit style pizza, and I really enjoyed it. From the red sauce and homemade honey to the spicy sausage and flavorful pepperoni, I am so glad I tried this style of pizza. Even though the price points seem high, you get a lot of pizza for the price, and the half pizza is enough for 2 people and will fill you for most of the day.

I wish this spot offered beer and chairs with backs. So we carry out 99% of the time. We love the pizza for a family of 4 we normally spend $88-$130 depending on the size pizzas we get that day. Because they have a great vegan options for me and great pizza for everyone else. This is our go to for pizza when I am eating.

Best pizza and mozz sticks around the Baltimore metro area. Food is always cooked to perfection and the staff is always friendly. There are a lot of delicious menu items to choose from, with a wide selection for gluten free and restrictive diets as well. I always recommend UPC to my friends and family.
