I wanted to make sure to post a review for this place, since the last one I could find online was from three years ago! We were driving to the Whitney, saw this place on Yelp, and wondered if they were still around. We stopped when we passed by it and saw the open sign lit up. She’s there! Tammy Lewis is the cook, and her mom owns the place. We were spending the whole day at the museum and wanted something easy, quick, close, and tasty. We had great fried chicken/catfish with red beans and rice for $13 each. The red beans were super-flavorful. You definitely have to know it’s there to find it — we felt like we had discovered a secret only the locals know. Might not be for fancy folks, but it’s great if you want some good home cooking!

This little hiiden gem was a very pleasant surprise. The sign is missing out front, so don’t miss it driving by. The building is older and at first glance you are not sure what your going to get. After walking in to see the owner sitting at a table and her daughters serving and have a great conversation with her you feel like you just joined a family at their home table. The food finished out the home cooking feel and was amazing. The fried chicken was so delicious. Don’t let the outside fool you this place was so inviting and served great food.
