Vegetarian street-style Indian food in East Scarborough. Large colourful dining area. Known for their dosas. The paneer chili was good, found the other dishes lacked depth of flavour. A bit expensive as well for the quantity you get. Good service.

Visited Sankalp recently and ordered Paneer Tikka, Cheese Naan, Laccha Paratha, and a soda. The restaurant had a decent ambiance, but the service was a bit slow — it took longer than expected for our order to arrive. The Paneer Tikka was flavorful but could have been more tender, the Cheese Naan was nice but not as soft as I’d have liked, and the Laccha Paratha was average in texture. Overall, the food was okay, but nothing stood out as remarkable. There’s definitely room for improvement in both taste and speed of service. ⭐⭐⭐

Sankalp Restaurant in Scarborough is one of the best spots for authentic Indian cuisine. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Their wraps , Manchurian and chutneys are absolutely delicious, and the thali offers a perfect mix of traditional tastes. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are polite, attentive, and provide excellent service. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size. Whether dining in or taking out, Sankalp never disappoints. A must-visit for anyone craving real Indian flavors in Scarborough! Highly recommended!

It was our first time here . We ordered through uber eats. Food was okayish . The fried rice was a bit disappointing. Noodles and veg Manchurian were ok we have had better. Panner curry was ok too ..vada pav was average .the pav was so big and the vada inside was so tiny. For the price i would not want to spend so much again

I went here with my family for dinner and honestly, it was not a good experience.

We ordered appetizers first, and they brought the food without giving us plates. We were just sitting there looking at the food until they brought the crockery later. It was uncomfortable and didn’t make sense.
After 10–20 minutes, we ordered our mains. We only ordered dal, naan, and one paneer dish. Nothing special. But we had to wait more than an hour for the food. When we asked, they said other tables had ordered the same dishes. I understand restaurants get busy, but waiting that long for simple food was too much.

One of the naans was also burnt.

The food itself was okay, nothing extraordinary and definitely not worth the long wait.

The only good part was our server. He was very sweet and tried to help us, which I really appreciated.

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

1.Service was good specially Dhara guides clients really well. And she was checking out us every each meal.
2. Food , Chilli panner was really good
Crispy corn was good but bit salty.

Masala dosa – dosa patter was more flour mixed and too salty ,very hard to eat. For dosa Plat was small.

Lacha paratha oily and burned crispy couldn’t eat.
We mentioned earlier food is salty and they made panner butter Masala perfect taste

Atmosphere is good but while we’re eating one of the services girl spray Lysol behind us and couldn’t stand smell of it. Too bad I’ve to leave earlier. They could avoid small things like this.

Our server was very nice and patient. We ordered two dosas and bhail puri, but I enjoyed the bhail puri more than the dosa. It was nice and spicy, just the way I like it.

Beautiful restaurant in that neighbourhood with nice decor and good customer service. A great spot of hangout and enjoy time.
The lentils are very delicious and surly will go with that if I go again but the other fusion items needs lots of improvement.

Yesterday, We had ordered Kaju Curry, Dal Tadka, and Jeera Rice. Unfortunately, the experience with the Kaju Curry was very disappointing. It was extremely spicy and had a burnt chili taste. We returned it and were told a fresh one would be prepared. However, what we received after that seemed like the same curry with just some extra gravy added ..it was still just as bad, probably the worst Kaju Curry we’ve ever had.

After that, we decided to switch and ordered Dal Tadka with Jeera Rice instead. The dal was just okay !!!! nothing special and the rice, as you can see in the photo, didn’t even look like Jeera Rice. It looked more like plain steamed rice, with barely any jeera (cumin) in it.

This isn’t the first time we’ve had issues with the food here. The second-last visit also left us disappointed.

To be fair, the South Indian food here is generally good ,,,but when it comes to Punjabi cuisine, the quality just doesn’t match up.

Also, we asked to speak to the manager about our experience. The staff said the manager was inside the kitchen and couldn’t come out to talk. This lack of accountability was frustrating, especially given the repeated issues.

We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements to both the food quality and customer service ..especially when customers raise genuine concerns.
