April’s Maple is a working sugarhouse nestled deep in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. At our sugarhouse we make the finest organic, Vermont maple syrup and other unique maple products. A hidden gem! We discovered this place while snowmobiling on the VAST trails. All of our lunch dishes were excellent from the sandwiches to the chilies. The maple sundae was over the top good.

This place is better than your typical Canadian sugar shack.
The soft serve ice cream, pulled pork, French toast, and combination platter were amazing.
We stayed at Jackson’s Lodge nearby and had the best breakfast the next morning. This is the only place to go in the area.

We visited this place for the fall foliage, and it was an absolute delight. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the quality of the food was exceptional. The prices were also very reasonable. Their chipotle-style beef tacos were absolutely delicious, and their maple syrup was simply incredible. Even the ice cream and shake were very delicious. However, their maple candy and truffles were a bit too sweet for my taste, but everything else was fantastic. I highly recommend this place, and I definitely plan to return if I ever go back to Vermont.

April’s Maple is always a stop when I visit family in Canaan or Averill. The creamies – unmatched. All of the food is delicious there. I had breakfast for the first time last visit and it was outstanding(usually get a sandwich like the photo). I always get syrup to go, and shop for merch or the goodies they sell in addition to all things syrup(most recently variations of flavored cheesecake mix). This place is a MUST. GO.

I first visited April’s Maple seven years ago and was delighted by their maple creemee. After sharing maple-laden tales with my sister-in-law, we finally made our way there again on our vacation.
The store and restaurant were even better than I remembered them, and we stopped by four times in three days. We were able to sample most of their menu, along with the seasonal items, and were thoroughly impressed by everything.
There is plenty of parking in the gravel lot at the store, with handicapped spaces designated out front. Along their property is a stream with a sandy patch where two chairs and a swinging bench are placed, making for a perfect sitting area during the nice weather. They have a sizable patio area with a take-out window for a quick stop, but also seating indoors.
Their retail store, while small in comparison to the dining area, has an abundant selection of their own and local products. Maple products galore for yourself or as gift items ranging from small to large are perfect for every price point. While in the store, there’s a window into their production area so you can see the magic behind the scenes as you browse.
All the servers we had at the restaurant were patient, friendly, and elevated the experiences we had. Their menu has breakfast and lunch, plus sides, and a daily soup and sandwich, too. The real reason guests stop by is for the maple creemee and other maple treats. I was pleased to see gluten-free options and was always accommodated on the marked dishes. A server even went as far as to bring out the hash brown package for me to read to ensure it was gluten-free before I ordered. It was such a relief to be able to order and eat without worry, heightening the experience.
All of us had a wonderful time and look forward to the day we can visit again.

Although it does not have any competition in the area, they still makes their service, place and food great! We had their pulled pork on sandwich and taco as well as the maple ice cream pie and oh boy we were eclectic of it’s taste! They also gave us free taste of their maple that made us buy for its distinct taste! See images and vid below for our wonderful experience. Open 10am-3pm. Limited seating. They accept credit/debit card, high chair available, ample of parking spaces.

If you’re anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop for a maple creamie! It’s hands-down the best one I’ve ever had . The texture is perfectly creamy without being too sweet. This is one of those hidden gems you visit once and can’t stop thinking about afterward. We are literally planning to drive 4 hours to get this creamee again because it lives rent free in our heads.

My husband had maple pancakes and I had Chipotle tacos, both were great. The coffee is special. Rustic decor creates a lovely ambiance. The service was excellent. Thank you, Jake. And they have a lovely little store where I purchased a number of items for stocking stuffers. It is definitely worth the trip, especially in the fall. It was a phenomenal drive.

Oh. My. Goodness. My food bread pudding was INSANELY DELICIOUS. Order ur first so you have room for it. Oh and it’s a large serving.
The drive through the autumn leaves and colors just preps you for the delightful interior, a totally north woods feel
The pricing is local, non-tourist pricing and you won’t leave hungry. I ordered bread pudding, the house curry and 2 orders of naan. Yeah…my eyes are much bigger than my stomach. Took half my curry home for a second meal!
And let’s talk service and staff: from the owner, who took our order, to the young ladies who served us as well, everyone is approachable, friendly and laid-back. It’s a homey feel and I loved it!
Plenty of free parking in the multiple lots. Not a wheelchair accessible location, but don’t let that stop you; hire a strong man to pick you up!
It is that well worth the food.
Going back to the food, if you order the curry, be aware it’s not a foreigner’s curry. It’s gentle no spice and an American version. It’s good, just not spicy. At all and that is perfect for me!
