Had the worst experience at the Red Lobster in Mishawaka, IN. The problem wasn’t waiting almost 2 hr to receive our food, and seated at a dirty table. That was understandable being that we had a party of 16. My problem was after waiting that long and I received my food which was the surf n turf with well done steak, I received an uncooked steak that was well done on the outside. When you order well done you do that for a reason. The problem came when the manager was called to the table, I showed her my steak which was not done. The manager then had the audacity to tell me I should not want a well done steak because it is dry and hard to eat, I told her that is what I ordered so could she have them make me a well done steak. She told me all she could do was take my steak back into the kitchen and finish cooking it. I thought that was very unsanitary being that I took a bite out of it and it had steak sauce all over it. I then asked her to take the steak off of my bill. She then told me she could not do that and stated “ They said YOU PEOPLE always have issues when you come here. This left everyone unsettled. I left my meal on the table and even paid for it and also left the waitress a tip. I had to go home hungry. This left a bad taste in my mouth for going out to eat. I have not been to Red Lobster in years so I was trying to figure out who she was talking about when she said YOU people.

My daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful Valentine’s Day experience at Red Lobster, and I felt compelled to share it.

This year, I decided to take my 10-year-old daughter out to show her how a woman should be treated. We both dressed up for the occasion — she wore a beautiful dress, and I wore my three-piece black tuxedo. I had made reservations ahead of time, and when we arrived, we were escorted promptly to our table, which already made the evening feel special.

Our server, Shay, truly made this night unforgettable.

My daughter, Taya, really wanted crab legs. I was explaining to her that she would need to crack open the shells to get the meat out, which can be difficult even for adults. When Shay came back to take our order, we mentioned that Taya wanted crab legs but might struggle with opening them. Shay simply smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I got you.” At the time, I wasn’t exactly sure what she meant.

When our food arrived, Shay told my daughter, “Give me one minute, let me go put on my gloves.” She returned and began carefully opening every crab leg for Taya. While doing so, she shared a story about a 90-year-old woman who also loved crab legs but was too frail to open them herself, so Shay would help her in the same way.

What Shay did may seem small to some, but to us, it meant everything. She went far beyond her job description. She recognized a father trying to create a meaningful and memorable Valentine’s Day for his daughter and stepped in with kindness, compassion, and heart. She helped create an environment filled with inclusion, laughter, joy, and genuine human connection.

This is a spotlight and a heartfelt thank-you to Shay. Your kindness did not go unnoticed, and it made a lasting impression on both of us. I truly hope life blesses you abundantly, and I hope your own children grow up valuing you as much as we valued you that evening.

It was Valentine’s day & it was PACKED. I’m glad I made reservations. The staff was amazing & friendly. My steak wasn’t as I had ordered, it was still good, though, & I know the cooks had to have been overwhelmed. Altogether we had an enjoyable meal & experience.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I unfortunately didn’t have a great experience at Red Lobster.

We did come in before the rush started. We understand that it’s Lent and that many people choose this restaurant for seafood options during that time, but we were seated before it got busy.

When we first got there, it took about 10 minutes for our server to come over, and we weren’t greeted with waters. She asked what we wanted to drink, which was fine — we ordered waters and I ordered a mocktail. She mentioned the bar would be making it shortly, but it never came out. I do take responsibility for not reminding her, but at that point I just didn’t even want it anymore. Since our server wasn’t around, there was a manager helping another table and we asked them to take the mocktail off the bill, which they did.

We never got our server’s name, and she seemed very overwhelmed and frantic with all of her tables in the same section. We usually enjoy the biscuits and tend to get 1–3 baskets depending on how hungry we are. Our first basket came pretty late, and we noticed other tables who were seated after us receiving theirs before we did. After we asked, she brought some out. Later, we had to ask again for more.

We ordered our food fairly quickly, but it took quite a while to come out. Again, we saw people who were seated after us receive their meals before we did, which made us feel a bit forgotten. When our food finally arrived, we were missing items — I ordered a side of fries, and they didn’t come. When I let her know, she immediately ran to the kitchen, and we could hear her yelling in the back asking for fries.

While we were eating, we weren’t checked on to make sure everything was okay, and our waters sat empty most of the time. There were only two of us, and it just felt like basic service was lacking.

We did get our food, but honestly at that point we weren’t having a good time. We ended up packing it up shortly after it arrived because we felt like we would enjoy the meal more at home.

The food itself was good — this was strictly a service issue. I just thought it should be known.

My wife and I visited for our 14th wedding anniversary and upon arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles and well wishes from the staff, our server Drea was attentive and polite, which made for an all-around pleasant experience, we highly recommend this location and this server.

I haven’t been to Red Lobster since they got their new CEO and new menu. I had this Salmon with soy-based sauce over spring mix, roasted brussel sprouts, and orzo and it did not dissapoint! Service was excellent.
