The sushi is wonderful. My wife and I have been loyal customers. We don’t often eat out or do takeout. When we do order sushi, it is always Shinobi and we always order takeout. When we pick up, we pay by credit card. I am handed the machine and presented with tip amount options (for takeout!), but I eventually find the “no tip” amount, stay silent and tap my card. However, this evening, we went to pick up. I was asked how I wanted to pay. I said credit card. The woman asked if I had a stamp card. I said my wife had it in the car, so I left to get the card. When I returned, the machine had an amount that seemed about right, I tapped my card without really thinking about it and left with the receipt. When I got home, I realized that I had been charged a 20% tip – THAT I DID NOT SELECT. The reason I know this is that I never touched the machine. I ultimately accept responsibility for this as I should have been paying closer attention before tapping my card, but I am not happy. Being asked for a tip for takeout seemed like a good idea for restaurants during the pandemic, but now I feel like customers are being taken advantage of. Please stop this practice.

Got delivery for the first time. We keep going back because the food is actually pretty good. We don’t find the service to be very good when we dine in. Very slow among other things. Anyway, had Miso soup, tempura, spicy cinnamon roll, California roll, dynamite roll, And two kappa rolls. The tempura sauce either wasn’t there or tasted very much like soy sauce. The wasabi was mixed in with the ginger so the ginger tasted very strongly of wasabi, not enough spicy sauce on the spicy tuna roll. The food itself is pretty good but they failed hard on the sauces tonight. At least if we were dining in we could get this fixed but with delivery you’re kind of screwed.

This place is the only place I order sushi from. I was so excited when they opened because I live close to it and the 224th location is not as convenient. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food never disappoints. Love this little place!

Super fresh, large portion sizes, and well presented. We ordered take out for a birthday lunch – were really impressed with the food and service. Picked up about 10 different rolls – Caterpillar and Philadelphia Rolls were the standouts – plus prawn tempura, which was fried fresh when we picked it up. Platters were well presented and food was tasty and fresh. Will be back!

This is my go to spot for Sushi food is always fresh service is good very friendly staff. Had both eat in and take out never had a bad meal. Would highly recommend this restaurant. It can be very busy though but once you are seated the comes up quick. LOts of street parking and wheel chair accessible

Honestly terrible food. Some of the worst sushi I’ve had in a white. It tasted and felt creamy. Waited for an hour as well. Miso soup was also very salty

portions are great, i ordered a 4pc tempura and the shrimp was massive! also the sashimi is really thick cut and the rolls were delicious and had so much toppings on top. everything was fresh and was ready in in 30mins, and was under 50 bucks!
