Service? I had a very cool waiter.
Food? Not perfect but pretty decent for its pricetag.
Everything else? As average as it gets, clean and tidy.
Would I recommend going again? Nah, Try something else in the area too.

Provides a gluten-free menu full of options. Everything feels fresh, nicely made and served hot. Orange chicken was so much better made in the wok than deep fried. We had lettuce wraps, Mongolian beef, Szechuan green beans, all gluten-free. I am SO happy to have found Asian food safely labeled and gluten free and made by informed staff. Well-done lettuce entertain you restaurants.

It’s been several years since my last visit to Big Bowl the previous one being back in 2019. I decided to stop by this afternoon for lunch after getting out of school, and I’m pleased to say the experience was excellent. Compliments to the chefs in the kitchen the Firecracker Chicken was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. I’ll definitely be returning soon. Many thanks as well to my server for the outstanding service truly deserving of five stars. “Exceptional service deserves dessert.”

My sister and I used to open Big Bowl restaurants 25 years ago when they had spots in Texas, so any time I visit Chicago it is a must-go! While the prices have almost doubled since then, the food quality and great service remain the same it is certainly too cost-prohibitive to visit often, but once or twice a year it is always a treat. Our decades-old tried and true recommendations are as follows:
Appetizer:
Calamari (flash-fried, light, crispy and flavorful)
Chicken potstickers
Lettuce wraps (and yes, they will bring you extra lettuce so don’t worry about skimping!)
Main course:
Beef & broccoli (the mushrooms are AMAZING)
Orange chicken (light and crispy)
Stir fry bar (if you like to handpick your veg)
Drinks:
Hibiscus iced tea
Hibiscus lemonade
Mai tai

Our waiter was amazing, very attentive and polite.
I found this to be a quality upgrade from your standard Chinese food.
The orange chicken was breaded, but not overly breaded or greasy. The beef was tender with a great flavor! I found the fried rice to have a bit of a sweetness to it, but I enjoyed it. The Chinese noodles were cooked well and complimented the beef perfectly.

First time here. Came during the week and it wasn’t busy. We were sat at our table immediately. Good menu options, our server was attentive. I had the bowl and substituted for cauliflower rice. Glad they have healthy options. The portion sizes are huge and filling. The egg rolls were delicious. Had the calamari, it was good a bit greasy but still good. My food came out quickly and it was really good. My water never got low as the server kept it full. Overall good experience and I do recommend.

I’m in town from Arizona and my son recommended this restaurant and WOW !
The best Asian food I’ve EVER had, by far.
The Teriyaki Salmon paired with the Sauvignon Blanc was outstanding with great flavors and a huge quantity. The sauce with scallions and onions was so good, and complimented the rice perfectly.
Server and Bartender Sal was incredible. Fantastic service and a nice person.
This restaurant is highly recommended !

We had previously visited the Chicago Downtown and Arlington Heights locations and expected similar food taste. However, the stir-fry and Pad Thai lacked flavor and weren’t as spicy as highlighted on the menu. The portion sizes were good — we had leftovers. Service was quick, but the food wasn’t great. However, the blueberry cheesecake was delicious and was the best part of our lunch.

*VEGETARIAN* Must try! Great place to go for pan asian cuisine. My favorite is their stir fry bar where you can choose your own base (noodles or rice), your sauce (most of their sauces are 100% vegetarian. A lot places like this have fish in their sauces which is not communicated to vegetarians. Here they will tell you) I personally love combining the kung-pao sauce with ginger and garlic you get a really complex flavor. Finally, you go select your veggies and give the bowl to the chef. They have a lot of options and a mix of frozen and fresh veggies.
Service is great and atmosphere is fancy, with dark lighting and luxurious feel.
If you are in the mood for pan asian cuisine they have great drinks, vegetarian appetizers, and very tasty entrees. I would highly recommend. Prices are now typical with other restaurants although this would be considered upscale, so it is not too expensive. Very tasty food that is customizable, I will visit again.
