An entrepreneur by nature, our founder Chris Tallarico, created Boardwalk Subs with the intention to deliver quality subs with the freshest of ingredients at a reasonable price. Hailing from Lansing, Chris’ past experience in customer service and the restaurant industry was a perfect recipe for a classic, quality and consistent product made with families in mind. Our desire is for Boardwalk to be a place where coworkers, teammates, friends and families can share a delicious meal together without breaking the bank. After trying the East Beltline location we came to the Byron Center one because we knew we would be treated well as always here. Smiling and polite staff. No snarky attitude, just friendly and efficient. I’m not sure why this has less stars but we never had issues here. We started at the old location on Division and 54/52 St. By Big Lots. When that went away we found the Byron Center one and until the BeltLine location have never had poor service or quality. If all the locations operated like this one your company should have no real complaints.

I love this sub shop! When I walk in and I see my favorite sandwich artist, Alex, I always know I’m eating good! I make sure to order my sub “Alex’s way” whenever he’s there. He really does such an amazing job. Great employees and even better food! Blessed to be near such a talented establishment.

That girl Emmerson and that kid Alex are amazing. Both so great to order from. Emmerson is highly competent and makes a fire sub. My favorite sub is the #16. Very delicious. Glad to have good businesses like Boardwalk Subs in our town.

I’m not sure why on every bad review upper management blames there staff. Take some responsibility for your company. WOW. Sounds like an upper management issue to me.
Now for my review on the Byron location staff and food.
When I arrived the 2 staff members up front greeted me right away stopping what they were doing to come take my order. They were very very friendly and helpful with all my questions. They made sure that when I asked for extra toppings that there was enough to my liking. They also recommend things that I did not even know they had. (Garlic mayo). Thanks for that the g mayo is awesome. We ordered 3 full subs and got exactly what we wanted.

Went to Boardwalk with my husband and daughter this afternoon and need to give a huge shout out to Vanessa. Thanks for making my daughter’s first experience at Boardwalk a fun one. The staff is always fantastic and the food is superb.

My husband and I have been to this location 3 times in the last 5 months. The subs are really big so we always split one. The employees are always gracious and let each of us choose our toppings. I like lots of toppings but my husband only likes mayo, mustard and lettuce. (If I wasn’t with him, he would surely skip the lettuce. I’m always trying to get him to eat more veggies. )
Yesterday, the young man ringing up our order asked how he wanted me to mark my husband’s sandwiche. I jokingly said a big smiley face. He laughed and obliged me. He then asked how he should mark mine. I said an even bigger smiley face. He drew a huge smile with lots of teeth!
It’s nice to go somewhere with employees who are both polite and seem to enjoy their jobs.

Ordered four large subs, Byron center shop..none of the subs were marked all wrapped the same.. makes it very difficult for people to know one sub from the other.. The young lady there had her hair in a ponytail and was neatly dressed.. The two guys that are working there had hair down to their shoulders both which had been making subs… Found hair in two out of the four subs . No hair gnats hair was not pulled up why do the females have to put their hair up if the guys don’t??? Having hair in your food is not acceptable.. spending almost $70 you think you would get better quality.. when making the subs they were like in a race, they were put together very sloppy The bread was not cut evenly The bottoms of the subs were falling out.. very dissatisfied… Hair nuts should be a must when having hair that long.. it does not belong in people’s food !
