This place is a hidden gem. The food was exquisite. The starters were delicious and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection. The staff are attentive but not in your face. It has a friendly welcoming atmosphere and the service is exemplary.

My wife and I, who are Marriott gold elite were staying at the hotel. We came down from the room at 8pm and thought it would be easy to get a table. After going to the front of the restaurant and asking for a table for 2, we were told it was fully booked, even though there were 9 empty tables. We mentioned we were staying at the hotel, so the waiter brought over the head waiter who told us, we would have to wait at least 1 hour. We politely declined and walked over to the hotel reception to ask about any nearby recommendations for restaurants, and we were recommended to try the same hotel restaurant we were told would take an hour to be served. One phone call from reception and we were given a table. It took 10 mins before we were offered menus, and our drink order didn’t arrive for 20 mins after that. I ordered a basic burger, which arrived luke warm, and my wife a salad. The fries were no joke the best part of the meal. Also there were still 7 empty tables by the time we left roughly 1hr 15mins later.
I put the whole bad experience down to poor waitstaff training and a head waiter that thinks he’s the king of the castle. When the service is poor but the food is impeccable, it’s still a good experience. Unfortunately this restaurant lacks service, ambiance and the burger is below a McDonald’s.
The hotel staff running the breakfast buffet in the same restaurant were fantastic this morning. This review is not directed at them.

Excellent restaurant, staff and food ! Highly recommended! Apart from meat which is amazing, do not miss the delicious tartar as a starter, mojito and desserts! The vegi burger is good but very hard to eat properly. We tried zitronengrassorbet mit vodka and frischkase, so tasty.

Probably the very last restaurant I visited after living in Dresden for six years – and what a great surprise it was!
I went there with my child, and to my amazement, they offered a small toy and some coloring materials for kids. That kind of thoughtful service is quite rare in Germany, especially in Saxony.
Now, about the food – the steaks were absolutely the best I’ve had in Dresden, no doubt about it. The chefs clearly know what they’re doing, and the quality of the dishes was outstanding.
I’ll definitely be coming back and ordering again!

They are aiming for something Goucho, Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, Hawksmoor. That sets a target for a review.
The atmosphere is right. Dark lighting, sharp knives, snooty waiters, air drying meat on view.
Unfortunately they then fall short, despite the fairly high ( though not outrageous) prices.
I had the aged New York, my wife had the South American fillet, both ordered rare. Both came cooked correctly, but an HOUR after we had ordered. As is often the way, we were past caring about eating and ready to leave. I suspect they put our meal together in 5 minutes once I raised the issue of the delay.
The fillet was good, small but well cooked, tasty. The Strip was large, but surprisingly tasteless. The green beans were over cooked, but rescued by lots of salty butter. The fries were over salted and quite messy, they should have thrown away half of them for being too small and mis-shaped.
On balance I would not go back as though now I know to stick to the simpler and cheaper options, I couldn’t be sure the service would be any better.

Dissapointing. Waited for almost 1.5hrs for 3 tasteless mains. Ordered dry aged NY steak, iberico pork steak & cod steak. Everything was underseasoned. Steaks were tough and dry. Service wasnt great either.

Definitely one of the good places in Dresden for steaks, but at the price you could expect better. The steak was excellent, veal tartare on the chewy side, containing several sinewy chunks. The vegetarian options are below par, but I guess most people won’t go to a place of this name for vegetarian food.. The service was alright, of course it’s not fast food and the entire dinner takes some time, but I for one prefer to enjoy over a complete evening rather than rushing course after course. They have a decent choice of good wines to go with the food.
At half the price it would merit 5 stars, it doesn’t quite reach the quality to charge as they do.
