First time trying Cody Roadhouse. The food was decent, but what really stood out was the service. We went to this location on a Saturday and sat at the bar. The bartender was cool and made good conversation, which made the experience more enjoyable.
Overall, I’d give it 3⭐️. To me, it was an average restaurant experience. I ordered a steak, which was exactly what I expected—nothing bad, nothing amazing. My girlfriend ordered the chicken-fried chicken, but it had a really strong chicken taste to the point where she couldn’t finish it. We didn’t send it back or make a big deal out of it, but if we came back, she’d definitely order something different.
Solid service, okay food—worth trying once, but not a must-repeat spot for us

Our server was very attentive. The place is nicer inside that what you see from the road. It has a roadhouse feel. I had a ribeye which was flavorful but a little grizzly. Baked potato was good. Salad was tasty and the buffalo wings were great. My husband had a combo with ribs and filet which was tasty. As far as the food, great for the price.

My mojito was made with vodka for some reason but was still good.
The tea had a weird peppermint feeling.
Apps: Roles and butter are top tear. The butter was like a more cinnamony Texas road house better. Fresh and great.
The triple dipper is a 1/3. Cheese was good. The salsa toasted very watered down made from Walmart tomato sause. Guacamole was mid as well.
Mains: steaks were mostly under cooked but they were sent back a few times and fixed.
The shrimp was okay.
Chicken was good.
I don’t know if it’s normal but our server was bouncing off the wall. When asked for a kid’s menu it was written on the table in crayon. Slightly abnormal.

This Florida based restaurant chain’s local footprint found in Cortez Plaza competes against the larger nationwide restaurant such as Texas Roadhouse, Logan’s Roadhouse, Outback and Longhorn steak houses.
During this visit there were noticeable renovations in the the dining room, booth banquete were reappointed with updates to some wall decor and a consolidated menu, from multiple pages to only 2 and a specialty placard.
Their menu contains weekly daily specials, and monthly changing Sunday Featured meals. Unlike the other larger chains this sets Cody’s Roadhouse apart and slightly above them. A variety of reasonably priced meals mostly meat centrist options, seafood, combination and burger choices. Most meal entrée come with ‘bottomless’ house salad and fresh made in house yeast dinner rolls.
On this visit here ordered
an appetizer of onion rings.
Main courses chicken tenders platter with French fries. chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and coconut shrimp platter with coleslaw.
The ordered appetizer and complementary basket of yeast rolls as well as the “bottomless” house salad arrived in a timely manner.
Our waiter was very attentive, even though he was a relatively new hire he was very good at service, comprable to other more seasoned employees. He was at first unsure of the procedures to apply a credit for a birthday discount. (His only shortcoming)
The meals (and rolls) were delivered hot to our table. The only major disappointment was the the appetizer onoin ring tower. The rings were overly greasy, seemingly they were not drained properly before being stacked on the stand. The grease pooled at the base and the paper around their stand, kind of off putting.
But the meals far surpassed this issue.
Continuous updates keep the restaurant vibrant and freamsh always begging us to return regularly. During this visit there were noticeable renovations in the the dining room, booth banquete were reappointed with updates to some wall decor. Our next visit will hopefully be just as surprised with the same level of hospitality and good food.

I came in for an early dinner last night with my sister and we sat in the bar. I had a 9 ounce filet and she got the blackened salmon. Everything was so delicious and the salad and rolls are definitely good reasons to stop by. Lynda was our waitress and she was so kind and knowledgeable. She provided stellar service. We will definitely be asking for her again next time soon.

My friends and I visit Cody’s at least once a month.We have always had very pleasant experiences. The food is always delicious, the staff, always more than pleasant! Last night (10/31) we had a waitress named Angel, whom was so sweet, so professional and so kind. She is a joy! We just loved her. Another detail that we love about Cody’s is the manager ALWAYS stops by our table and asks how everything was. He is friendly, funny and genuinely cares about our dining experience. For certain , Cody’s will always be our first choice for dinner, and we hope we will be lucky enough to have Angel as our waitress again.

We moved to the area (Lakewood Ranch) from the villages. Cody’s was one of my favorite restaurants there however they had issues and complaints and most people I knew didn’t like it. Plus, service there was subpar. I wanted to try this one because I love the salmon! My husband and I were not disappointed! Angel was our server and she was outstanding; pleasant and courteous and the food was on spot! We will definitely make this one a go to for us!! Highly recommend!
