My family and I ate here on a Friday evening, around 7 PM, November 28, 2025. They were not very busy. We were seated pretty quickly. Our server Ava was fairly quick to show up and take our order. We got our drinks quickly. After that, we didn’t see her again until someone else delivered our food to us. She asked us how things looked, and kept on walking. I ordered the Redfish, my daughter ordered a double order of crab legs, and my wife got a hamburger (Boring!). We also had the BBQ Nachos, which were really good. I ordered a Absolut Lemonade. It was terrible, tasted like the mix was off. My fish was good, but nothing amazing. My wife said her boring burger was good. My daughter’s crab legs were so small, that the crab cracker barely worked. You couldn’t hardly get a good grip on a leg, to break it open. Or it was so soft, it just flexed. The only provided a plastic fork for picking the crab out, and she was afraid it would break off. Fortunately, it didn’t. Meanwhile, we had not see our server for awhile. We watched another family get seated at the table next to us. We overheard the person who seated them, tell them their server’s name was Ava and she would be with them shortly. About that time, all hell broke loose in the restaurant, with a DJ carrying on, people dancing on tables, etc., usual fare I guess for this place. After things settled down some, we saw our server walk by with several bundles of napkins. My wife tried to motion for her to come over and she kept walking. It’s possible she didn’t see her, but she certainly didn’t check on us at all as she walked by. The other family at the table next to us, by this time, had been waiting for over 15 minutes. NO ONE gave them menus, got them drinks, or anything. I could tell the father was getting upset. He ended up flagging down another guy, who was waiting on tables across from us. That guy (sorry no idea his name), took care of them. We wish he had been our server. He seemed very friendly and on task. When our server did show back up again, she literally dropped our bill off, and walked away again. Didn’t even ask us how things were, why I had not drank my drink, did we need more water, etc. I do not know where she was going, or how many tables she had. So it’s quite possible she was just simply overstretched. My wife manages a restaurant and had been a server for many years. My daughter is a server. Service like this, even if you are very busy, is unacceptable, in their eyes, and mine. We will not eat here again.

Visited Hangout in the “off season” and had a great experience. Food came out quickly and was fabulous. I recommend the redfish and shrimp and grits. Our waitress Mauve was excellent. Restaurant was clean with a good atmosphere on the front patio.

I had such a great experience at The Hangout on the Beach in Gulf Shores! Our waiter, TJ, was absolutely amazing—friendly, kind, funny, and very informative. His menu suggestions were spot on, and he made the whole experience even better. I truly wish him and his fiancée nothing but the best in their future endeavors.
The overall vibe of the restaurant was awesome—fun, energetic, and welcoming. I loved seeing the staff and birthday guests dancing on the tables, which made the atmosphere feel like a celebration. They also have live music at night, which just adds to the fun beachy vibe.
The food was fresh and delicious! We ordered the spinach dip, seafood boil, and salad, and everything was fantastic. One thing to note: parking is limited since it’s shared with the beach, so be prepared to walk a bit. But honestly, it was so worth it.
I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Gulf Shores, and I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again!

First time going to the Hangout to have dinner yesterday evening and it was phenomenal! Ricky made our experience absolutely fantastic! Extremely tentative and kept us laughing the whole time just making sure we had everything we needed as well a great time! 100/10 rating! Will certainly go back every year we come to Orange Beach. Our kids loved being here and it was such a great experience.

Super cool atmosphere with the thousands of ducks, matchbox cars and pez dispensers! They’ve remodeled & enclosed the far wall adding multiple TVs for sports & a large bar with hand crafted beverages that include mocktails. The view of the Gulf and breeze is where it’s at! They even have foam that happens every hour for the kids. Lots of cool photo ops as well. Service from Courtney was great and the food was good though I did expect more flavor from the Bayou burger. Kids said the chicken tenders were “just right.” We’ll be back!

Super fun place to hangout. Kid friendly during the day or after hours can be a fun hangout for younger crowd. I door and outdoor seating, foam party on the hour. Great place to go for a birthday- they make it special!

I went here on a date with my daughter, and we had such a great time! It also looks like a super fun place to go with a group, perfect spot to HANG OUT for hours! I loved the environment; it’s lively, fun, and everyone seems so happy (I would be too! ). Not to mention the beautiful view!
The shrimp boil was delicious—personally, I would have loved it to be a bit spicier, but it was still amazing. The burger was juicy and full of flavor as well. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I visit Orange Beach!

Fantastic experience, really yummy food, and great service. Breezy is a very friendly and helpful server. My husband had Grilled Red Fish with the house veggies, really excellent. I had the huge Pulled Pork Po’boy with cole slaw, and loved it. Would definitely eat here again.

The food is very good. Had fried shrimp and wife had a burger. She had the pulled pork burger and it was tasty. The fried shrimp was excellent. The staff entertains to the point of getting guests to dance on tables. There is also live music on the outside stage. The view while eating we could see the beach and ocean. We had a lot of fun.
