The rosemary bread on the BLT is awesome and a very nice change.
The staff were very kind in telling us about the restaurant and where to start looking at all the history. Very happy we stopped here for lunch.
I chose their buffet, which was good priced at around $19. There was a wide selection to chose from; eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, and gravy, plus unique additions like mac n’ cheese and a standout ham and cheese croissant fried in a funnel cake-like batter.
There were also 2 food stations; an omelet station where you can customize your creation, and a waffle station allowing for personalized toppings.
The dessert table was just as good; donuts, cream puffs, cake, and more.
Service was top-notch; staff were friendly, attentive, and refilled drinks without asking. It’s a great spot for families. Be aware that it does get busier around noon on Sundays, so plan accordingly. A truly enjoyable breakfast experience!
Out of the six of us, 2 dinners were sub par.
The pictures are of my $32 porterhouse steak.. very thin and no flavor.
Reminds me of what I expected from the old Ponderosa steakhouse for $12.99.
This was brought to me after everybody had been served in my group. They were eating when the waitress came to me and told me there was a problem with my first ordered meal, they were going to have to remake it.
My uncle ordered the perch dinner, he remarked was possibly the worst perch he is ever eaten.
We asked for the manager to discuss this with him.
Our waitress came back and offered us one dessert, evidently a common tactic to try to resolve an issue.
A $5 dessert.
We would have preferred to speak to the manager and show him the deficiencies.
Very disappointed.
We came for the Sunday brunch. It is mainly breakfast items, but everything is fresh and hot. We both had made-to-order omelettes. There’s a good selection of toppings for freshly made mini waffles. They do have tossed salad, sausage, bacon, potatoes and anything else you’d expect for a buffet. To finish it all off, some desert items. Come hungry, it’s well worth the price.
Thank you Clara’s for an outstanding Easter brunch buffet!!
The setting is an old train station and the architecture is amazing. Right downtown on the river and surrounded by awesome buildings. You can check out the WK Kellogg headquarters which is a tiny walk away.
The menu is ridiculous with something for everyone, it’s 6 pages long and I have never had a good meal, they have all been great or fantastic.
Plenty of Gluten Free options if you need or want it.
Have had an annual meal there for the last 5 years and always look forward to it.
