Edit: I’m so glad when I found that they moved back into the space after awhile. Now Rosalva even grows her own chilli pepper plants for the salsa! Can’t be fresher than this! They are back and better than ever!
Original post: I discovered Tacos Genesis right around the time they moved to this location on Story Rd and it became my go to place when I’m in the mood for tacos. My personal favorites are crispy tripa tacos/ burrito and tacos birria. Their hand-made tortillas make it even better. The lady owner Rosalva is the sweetest! I go there often enough and she makes me feel so comfortable. Cash/ Zelle only.

This is the temporary location as the original had a small fire and is being repaired.
Bad news: the parking is a little weird (don’t pull in immediately but go past it and come from the back) and the old location will take a little time to come back.
Good news: it’s just as good as before and they’re open and ready to sling everyone’s favorite taqueria classics!

Coming from a 100% Mexican I can approve of this place and the amazing food. I ordered the quesabirria and tacos and i left with nothing but a smile. Very nice and respectful people and it even has a place you can go in and sit. Nothing but good things about this place. I recommend anyone to come here and try it. Will most definitely return!

Came here for Taco Tuesday. We saw it while driving pass and decided to stop by. It was located in front of Boda, the Chinese restaurant that shut down a while back. Tacos Genesis’ bright light warmed up the surroundings of an otherwise scary-looking, vacant building.
Our group of five was lucky because the other customers sitting at the table and ordering were so friendly. They helped us out on what to order. The woman in front of us ordered enough food for her entire family, so she carried a huge stack of plates. The guys sitting at the table were giving suggestions as well. The menu is big, easy to read, and there’s a lot of variety.
We went with the al pastor and the cabeza. They were both delicious! The portions are good.
There is a self-serve salsa bar by the cashier’s window. All of the sauces were amazing, but be careful when trying the orange sauce. It is SPICY! I have a good spice tolerance but I had to take a breather on this one.
With plenty of seating as well as delicious food and sauces, I think this may be one of my favorite food trucks in San Jose.

I came here with my friend Jason who showed me this spot. We got 8 quesabirrias for $30!! They not only looked delicious but they also tasted muy delicioso! The people here are very welcoming and kind. The lady who works here gave Jason and I a drink of Jamaica after she saw we didn’t have any drinks to drink. We will most definitely come back again! No cap on jeethers, Berner approves the ColdFire extracts, so you know what’s up!
