Everything I’ve tried here has been so fantastic I order over and over, though I’m starting to make a point of branching out because I’m sure to find another amazing dish to add to my repertoire. This became a regular lunch spot for my coworkers and I.
Excuse the photos snapped in my car. I could not wait to get home before digging in!
but the ambiance is below average TBH.
On the other hand, why is the tip options are 20%, 25%, 30% ? when there is not much service other than taking my order ?
The restaurant’s interior was clean and well-maintained, and while there weren’t many customers dining in at the time, I noticed a steady stream of takeout orders. The service was adequate, but there is certainly room for improvement.
PRICE (7/10): Prices were fair. Not a steal, not a ripoff. Just… prices.
PLACE (7/10): Small spot, but fits 20–25 people. Functional and fine.
CLEANLINESS (8/10): Clean. No complaints.
LOCATION (9/10): Right in front of Walmart, super easy to spot. You could literally trip into it.
SERVICE & ATTITUDE (10/10): The lady working there was lovely and helped us understand the menu. Felt like visiting a kind aunt with a wok.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Not a match for my palate, but I’m not giving up yet. Menu’s got range, and the staff’s warmth makes a second round likely.
Chance of returning: 75%
Husband and I decided to stop by on November 16-23 as mentioned in the previous review we were packing our things and moving to another place.
We were kinda tired so we arrived around 20:20.
My husband ordered ‘Duck Hi So’ full of ginger aroma. Light batter crispy duck, shrimps, ginger onions, scallions, carrots, celery, bell pepper with white steamed rice.
My dish was the ‘Drunken Noodle’ with wide rice ribbon noodles sauteed with eggs, onions, fresh basil leaves and beef. I prefer chicken but this time I wanted to taste something different.
Husband liked his dish he said: The duck was pretty good with a lot of meat, not just bones. It was just perfect with the rice.
My noodles were kinda good, while the beef wasn’t a good cut and had a lot of sinues. So I mostly just ate the noodles.
This restaurant has been around nearly 20 years. It is family run by two ladies. They’re polite and the owner came to our table making sure everything was alright.
Also they’re good about asking you how spicy you’d like your dish – very important in an Asian restaurant.
They didn’t rush us by the time we finished they were ready to close.
My husband met them before when we first moved to Virginia in January -23 he ordered food for us there.
To me it was the first time visiting the restaurant.
In my opinion if you’re looking for a beautiful ambiance, to take your date and relax is not the place.
Great for take out like we had the first time.
The staff is always very welcoming and friendly and it’s always appreciated after a long day at work!
Curiously, they advertise Pad Thai as a popular dish but it is my least favorite.
