-The waitress repeats our order totally wrong. I mean it was 3 Dr. Peppers and a sweet tea and somehow she got coffe and hot cocoa from that. The food order was equally difficult for her to enter.
-ALL of our meals were wrong after waiting forever. Mine I asked for no whip on my double blueberry pancakes. They came out w whip. I understand mistakes. So I just told her. The rest of the table didn’t want to wait so despite thier mistakes they ate. I am allergic to whip cream so I couldn’t just eat mine. I then see the waitress just scrape it off. She then brings the pancakes to me like no issue. Number one I can see all the residuals and number two I literally saw her scrape off. When I told her I would not accept them because I saw what she did she just looked at me. The another waitress stepped in and said she would make me new ones. Neither one of them friendly about it, no apologies.
– The cook, as in the picture, had on black headphones and was constantly eating in the back. Is this why all of our orders were wrong or was it the waitress that had a difficulty entering simple orders? I’m not sure but I know that is not how you are supposed to cook. Food at out table AND others were not coming out together. It was maybe 2 plates at a time with a wait in-between.
-We got our check that said about 59 and the waitress said it had a discount. Then when we pay the bill was all of a sudden 74. She blamed the manager for the mistake and said it was for another table.
We typically love IHOP but next time we are heading south on 35, I will go to the next one and hour further in Hill County.
When I finally got my food, it was ice cold. Several items were wrong or missing: my over-easy eggs were cooked well done, there were no utensils, and my bananas foster crepe and French toast came with no bananas and no sauce. After waiting nearly an hour from the time I placed my order, this was unacceptable.
Had I not already paid online, I would have walked out. IHOP needs to take to-go orders seriously, customers should not wait this long only to receive cold, incomplete, and poorly prepared food.
Our waiter, Michael, was excellent. He was attentive, polite, and well-trained. He checked on us throughout the meal without being overbearing. Our food came out quickly, tasted great, and was cooked just right. There was a minor issue with the orange juice tasting a little watery (and I overheard the next table mention the same thing), but it wasn’t enough to be a dealbreaker for me.
Side story on the WiFi –
The IHOP near my house has guest WiFi but this one didn’t However, upon asking Michael (don’t let him get in trouble with this), he logged me and my potential client onto the network. Michael is a problem solver. Without knowing that I have over 360 million views on my reviews and that I’m an Online Reputation Manager, he did what was right in my eyes. I really needed that WiFi to do business with my client so I am grateful he did that.
The restaurant was clean, including the floors as well as the restrooms—something I always check but something someone else mentioned. In fact, there was even an employee actively cleaning the restroom when I went inside, which shows they’re paying attention to the details.
Overall, this location delivered a solid IHOP experience. Good service, good food, and a clean environment. I’d definitely return.
