Great little spot! Got some tamales for the family, excellent food, and service was great as well. The man at the counter was very friendly.
However! I ordered online originally and found out at the store that they do not own that website! So if you want to order call it in DO NOT use the website.

Update, Dec 16, 2021 – Menudo, menudo, menudo. What a beautiful soup. I’ll let the picture speak a thousand words instead.
Nov 7, 2020 – Good Sunday morning Peoria, if you’re still asleep you’re missing out on a really amazing Indian summer day. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping.
Many of you already know I like to go to Panaderia Ortiz located at the intersection of Spring & Monroe in the North Valley. But what you don’t know (all my Hispanic friends do of course) is that they also have off the menu items.
One such item is called Menudo, which is the Mexican hangover soup. What I really love about this is that the food culture comparative to where I am from is similar, we love to have good and tasty comfort food, we love soups, broths with lots of different bones and other ingredients in them.
When can you get menudo? I spoke with the owners as I left, generally on weekends and sometimes during the middle of the week. If you’re wanting to get some during the week, your best bet is to call first to avoid disappointment.

Dec 9, 2020 – Where else do you get chorizo tacos like these? Continually amazed by the consistency of their quality food offerings.
Nov 2, 2020 – Breakfast Burrito (egg & chorizo or egg & ham) is an off menu item. You have to ask for it. Bet you can’t only eat half.
Tacos, tamales and tortas are muy delicioso.

Very nice, hole in the wall, authentic Mexican bakery. We went on a hunt for good tres leches cake and we’re not disappointed! So fresh and rich, wet but not soggy and very sweet. They have the cutest little breads that are delicious and also serve tamales, tacos, burritos, coffee, and apparently pizza which I’ve heard is good but haven’t tried yet. Loved all the authentic Mexican drinks and food products and enjoyed a pineapple Jarritos with my delicious tamale covered with Christmas sauces. Loved the green salsa. :). Not much of a parking lot and not a great neighborhood, but GPS found it just fine. If you don’t mind going into a little bit of a seedy part of town, this is a great place to visit not only for a good bite but also a huge 10 dollar bag of freshly baked bread in the shape of turtles and the best churros I’ve ever had filled with raspberry jelly. Will definitely make this a regular stop from now on.

This bakery’s Tres Leches cake is unlike any other. It’s incredibly milky and moist, with the perfect balance of sweetness. The high-quality ingredients and attention to detail make every bite a true pleasure on your palate. Don’t miss out on this must-try dessert!

WOW! What a little hidden gem. Lunch for three. We had tamales, tacos with beans & rice, another had the HUGE burrito. Clean & small menu. They carry authentic Mexican soft drinks, HUGE pastry & dessert selections. Prices are VERY reasonable, and our host was the owner’s wife. Food & service was very prompt. The sauces were warm, not too hot or spicy. We did ask for chips, although in the future (soon) I will order a chip & salsa with my meal, as I LOVE C&S! Cute little off the grid place in the heart of Peoria North Side!!!!

Unbelievable authentic food. The bakery items are so delicious. Just a fantastic place to have lunch. If you sweat easily like me, get it to go because it is HOT inside. The burritos with beans and rice are the best I’ve ever had.
