My name is Amber and we came to Roger’s Roost to celebrate my grandma’s 80th birthday, and honestly it was such a great experience.
Our servers, Sarah and Ryan, were seriously awesome. Super friendly, really on top of everything, and just had great vibes the whole time. They kept checking in without being annoying, made sure we always had what we needed, and handled our big group like total pros.
They really went above and beyond and made the whole night feel easy and fun, which is exactly what you want when you’re celebrating something special. You can tell they actually care about giving good service, and it made a huge difference for our family.
If you ever come here, definitely ask for Sarah and Ryan — they made our night. Give them a raise because they absolutely deserve it!

My dad, my little brother and I finally decided to checkout this place after being curious about it for so long. I really like the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant, it appears that it’s a great place to socialise and host gatherings. Quiet, but busy. It’s nice that you can hear one-another and talk at a reasonable volume but also not feel like you can hear others a few tables over. Conveniently, we went on Sunday which meant my little brother ate for free – which is awesome by the way. My little brother is such a picky eater and is rather peckish. As far as the food, we started with the saganaki which both my father and I agreed was a strong highlight of the experience, then I got an individual Chicago style pizza with a side of fries and my father got the macho nachos, and then my little brother got a burger and some fries as well. Our only complaint, was that the food could’ve used a little more flavour. I also personally felt like the Chicago style pizza’s crust was a tad dry and the fries to be a little too basic. But overall we had a wonderful dine-in experience and our server was wonderful and incredibly attentive. I’m certain we’ll be back, very great for casual outings and for the family.

Good restaurant. Good quality food. We’ve been there a few times. Today the service was not so good. That’s not usually the case.

Love this place and the affordability! Everything is so good but I particularly love the white pizza! It is no longer on the menu, but I always ask for it and they still make it for me. We’ve had many private parties here over the years and they have always been very accommodating, it is why we keep coming back!

Update: Today, we went back for dinner after a lukewarm experience several weeks ago. What we found is that the old Rodgers roost that we know and love did not disappoint. We ordered the Bavarian pretzels with the cheese dip. They were hot, crispy and soft in the middle. The beer cheese dip was thick, tasty and perfect for the pretzels. I also ordered The chicken tortilla soup. It was piping hot, topped with tortilla strips, and cheesy. It had a thick base, and was chunky with chicken and served with a dollop of sour cream. Both of us decided we would try the Power Bowl. I ordered the chicken and my husband ordered the Beef. The bowl was filled with meat, lots of vegetables on a foundation of rice. The rice was just so-so and kind of bland, the teriyaki sauce was clearly out of a bottle and just OK. I recommend getting the sauce on the side. Overall, the bowl was full of protein, crisp, clean and very healthy. It was a really good choice.
Service was attentive. Several people stop by to make sure everything was OK. The walls are filled With lots of eye candy and neon signs. Even the booths that are “high tops” have foot rests, making dining comfortable.
Will definitely be back.
Old review: I want to love this place. It’s a kitschy restaurant/bar with tons of eye candy on the walls. You feel at home from the moment you walk in here, it looks really friendly. And you sit down at your table with a basket of salty popcorn. What’s not to love?
However, we had dinner tonight, and maybe it’s a one off, but it was terrible. We ordered soup and dinner. The dinner came before the soup. I ordered fajitas, there were four small strips of chicken, the rest of the heap was half-done onions and peppers. The rice was hard and cold And was served on an ice cold plate. The French onion soup was unbearably salty, from a can, lukewarm, and the cheese on top was hardly melted. The waitress never came back, so we never had a refill on our pop or waters.
There was a very large party at the other end of the restaurant, so I I understand that they may have been short staffed in the kitchen.
It was pretty hard to love this place tonight. On the plus side, the bathrooms are Sparkly clean, and don’t forget to check out the statue of the Ladies bathroom.

The atmosphere was nice. I think our party size was a bit overwhelming. The coleslaw was amazing! It was creamy and not too sweet.

Visited for the first time & was an excellent experience, from the sweet girl who seated us, to the experienced, friendly, and attentive server, Shelby. Had fish with mashed potatoes (substitute for fries) & coleslaw. Delicious soft bread sticks & complimentary coke refills! My son, who is vegetarian, had baked gnocchi with salad. Really enjoyed! Large banquet room also for any size party!

“We had a really enjoyable dining experience here! The restaurant’s quirky, unique decorations made the atmosphere fun and inviting, and the fresh popcorn was a nice little touch. We tried the Chicago-style pizza, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cheesy with a great crust. Our waitress was friendly, patient, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, it was a memorable visit, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and looking for tasty pizza and a welcoming, fun environment.

THE BEST BURGER! We ordered the Jack Daniel’s burger and it was AMAZING! We’ve had burgers at restaurants all over Macomb County and this by far, was the best so far! The bacon was Smokey the amount of sauce was perfect, the burger was cooked just as ordered and it was very juicy!
