Delicious lattes. We come here often. This time we had hot bake croissants with turkey and cheese, bowl of cheddar cheese broccoli soup. Yum. Only complaint is the staff here can quite rude. The only friendly person here is a young slim boy who buses tables on the weekends. He’s nice and welcoming every time.

I arranged an excursion for a group and La Bou at the Zoo prepared sack lunches for everyone. We had a huge choice of sandwiches, salads, chips and cookies. Each person in my group made their own selections and the order was delivered to La Bou a couple days ahead of time. On the day of our trip I picked up 20+ lunches, all labeled with the person’s name and neatly packed into boxes. The manager, Der, and her staff had everything ready for me to pick up shortly after 7am. My roast beef on a croissant was the best sandwich I have had in years!

Nothing compared to what it used to be. I always used to come here and order a chicken Caesars salad. Everything was good the service the food the portions, but I came today the salad is $16 and they literally just add 3 or 4 strips of chicken. I asked for more chicken and the lady got an attitude. They expected me to pay $16 for lettuce this is crazy. They need better customer service and portions as big as their price

Ordered California Turkey on baguette on 1/30/26 since they were out of walnut bread. The baguette was stale, dried out and hard. Ordered about 12:50 pm so I thought the baguette should still be fresh. Very disappointed for spending $16 for sandwich. I expected better from La Bou.

This place is very charming and in a great location, however, the food is very low quality and low effort

I’ve been to this La Bou (“Near The Zoo”) twice now, once in November and once this month. Both times, the food was subpar, however, the food was better in November

I got a panini both times, and maybe I should just learn better. In November, I got the Roast Beef & Cheese Melt. This time around, I got a Farmhouse Panini, which is just a grilled cheese with deli sliced ham and an egg.

Both sandwiches cost over $10 but both were the equivalent of $3 to $5 sandwiches found at small airport cafes. Just very disappointing to pay $10 for a sandwich that costs around $1 to make max and tastes about average

I get this place is not known for its food, but it could at least drop the price for items like this…

I went around 2pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet, which was nice. The food was good, but I did wish the chicken club panini with avocado had a bit more flavor – it was as if there was no flavor added until I used the sauce which came on the side. The Thai chicken soup was nice but also could have been a bit more flavorful. Overall I had a nice experience and would visit again.

The LaBou chicken salad is amazing. Even better if you switch for the creamy dill dressing. It’s big enough to share with a friend, making your lunch under $8 each. Yum.

A nice spot to stop for lunch or a snack after a visit to the Sac Zoo and a stroll or bike ride through William Land Park.Clean, comfortable, plenty of outdoor seating as well as a pleasant interior, friendly staff, great food and a nice experience all around. I ordered the BLTA on toasted wheat bread, and a my spouse enjoyed her Pan Turkey Sandwich which had all the fixings of a complete Thanksgiving dinner tucked inside. We shared a huge Asian Pasta Salad, were not sure we could finish it all, but kept on nibbling until it was all gone. Premises are well maintained, and the restrooms are clean as a pin. I look forward to a return visit to try other things they have to offer.

The past 2 times I have been here, I’ve paid an exorbitant price for a breakfast sandwich and latte, and the service has been really bad!

Both times the cheese on my very expensive sandwich was not melted, despite me asking the second time for it to be made extra hot. Also, today, the cashier rang my latte up with no whipped cream even though I asked for it normal. She said “mocha latte, no whipped cream” and I said “I didn’t say no whipped cream”. She said “oh, I thought you didn’t want it”. I was like “why wouldn’t I want it?”. Honestly I just gave up coffee 2 weeks ago, I work out daily, and it’s Saturday so I wanted to get my weekly treat and I wanted it standard because I’m splurging. It was rude and annoying for her to make assumptions. Maybe it was because I had asked her what kind of milk the latte comes with but when I heard the answer I still told her I wanted it standard.

Then, I sat and sipped my very expensive latte for awhile and ate my cold sandwich. When a staff member came over and took my plate and cup without asking if I was done! I believe there was still a bit of coffee left in my cup. I told her I was still drinking that, and she said it felt really light. Did not offer to make a new one, did not do anything but walk away. She might have apologized but nothing more than that. I’m honestly shocked by the horrific service! If management sees this, please train your staff better, and a gift card for a free coffee wouldn’t be too shabby either.

My sandwich was not worth $12.50, there was a very tiny bit of goat cheese on one quarter of the sandwich, the goat cheese should of been the star, a very little bit of avocado and the bread was a little on the old side, the only thing that was good was the apple slices, very disappointing
