Purple Roots was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was excellent, with so many great options to choose from, and everything we tried was full of flavor. I also loved that it highlights Filipino cuisine and roots from the Philippines, which made the whole experience feel even more special and authentic. The restaurant was very clean, beautifully decorated, and filled with details that reflect the culture in such a warm and thoughtful way. The atmosphere was inviting, unique, and full of charm. Definitely a 5-star spot and a place I’d happily return to.

Walked in to the sound of wind chimes lightly playing. Immediately greeted by a nice Filipina lady asking my bf and I if it was our first time, and since it was we said yes! She promptly helped us by guiding us around the screen / menu. She was super sweet and friendly.
Our food is authentic, full of flavor and completely delicious. The sauces are sweet, spicy, tangy and normal salty – garlic and soy.
The atmosphere is welcoming, quiet – easy to talk, and comfy. The restaurant is beautiful, full of Filipino decor 🙂

We came last Friday 2/6 and it wasn’t too busy (thankfully) but when we were leaving it was getting busy. Let me start with the staff was helpful and answered any questions. The environment was Filipino filled memorabilia and gives you that feel. To eat we started with the Lumpia with pork. These were probably some of the best we have ever had. They were crunchy, and juicy at the same time would order these again in a heart beat. Then we wanted to try Bao Buns with BBQ pork. They were so good! The bun was so soft and the pork was good too. Then here came the Pancit with Chicken. This was soooo good and the flavors were plenty. The amount of seasoning and flavors that came out of this was beyond comprehension. Go here enjoy it try anything and everything and you wont be disappointed.

First time here Feb 13th and I was blown away! When we first entered, the aromatics got my mouth watering. The decor, the atmosphere and open kitchen… the easy ordering kiosk with pictures of the food, the easy on your buffet prices and relatively large portions of food are what gives this place a 5 star rating all around.

We came here on Valentine’s Day and they were swamped! We waited over an hour for our first dish to come out despite multiple asks to check in on the status of our food. The food was very good (loved the taro leaf curry) though and we found the ability to order via kiosk very convenient. The sisig was very good, but very small portion for the price.
It would be nice if they had activities for the kids especially given the very long wait time for food to come out.

I’m still dreaming about the incredible meal my sister and I had at this hidden gem of a Filipino restaurant in Jacksonville! The Pancit, Halo halo, Beef Lumpia, Fried garlic rice, Jasmine rice, Sinigang, Manila’s BBQ stick were the perfect start to the meal, with a delightful crunch and flavorful filling that left me wanting more. But the real showstopper was the Lumpia, Pancit, and Sinigang – the sour and savory broth was expertly balanced.
And let’s talk about the desserts… wow! The Halo Halo presentation was beautiful and it was creamy and rich, with just the right amount of sweetness and coconut flavor. The Ube cake was indulgent, and the mango pie had the perfect balance of deliciousness. Also tried the Calamansi juice drink, but it was too sour/tart for me needs more sugar or sweetness. Other than that, everything was excellent, I highly recommend this restaurant and Nora provided the best customer services and helped me to order on the kiosks.
Nora’s Service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you’re craving authentic Filipino comfort food, look no further! This place is a must-try!!!!

I loved the food at Purple Roots! Order from a kiosk screen, then take a number and have a seat.
We tried kare kare with lechon, laing with fried shrimp, and pork lumpia. Also unlimited white rice! On the table were sauces like garlic vinegar and sweet & spicy. They didn’t have bagoong for the kare kare today, but the flavors were still great! I loved the decor also. Lots of cool art on the walls.

Purple Roots has a really nice aesthetic. I liked the décor with photos of the Philippines, the people, and the culture. Ordering on the kiosk was simple and they bring the food out to you. The presentation was beautiful. I got the lumpia and kare kare and both were really good. The rice was delicious too. Overall, a great stop in Jacksonville.

I ordered pancit with lechón but the server told me that will take an hour and a half,( not sure why they sell it if you have to wait that long or must be prepare before costumer arrives but at least gives the peace of mind that is fresh) so had to change to ox tail, the flavor of the meat was great but was really a small small portion, the noodles were good.
Now my husband order Taro leaves curry and had a very strong flavor: like coconut milk and a weird one of the taro. Maybe I just don’t like that at all. But I would only recommend if you can handle certain weird foods. I am g very good eating different flavors but that dish was not for me.
