My fiance and I are regular customers at Longhorn, although we typically visit the ones located in Brandon and Riverview, which are closer to home. After a day fishing and at the beach we stopped here for dinner around 8:30. We received our food about 5 minutes ago, and from start to finish it has been a shitty experience. Despite there being many empty tables, we were told our wait, for a party of 2, would be 10 minutes so we sat ourselves at a high top in the bar area. After looking forward to a frozen margarita, a regular order for me at Longhorn, I was told that this location doesn’t sell frozen drinks. Also, we were informed that they were out of the complimentary brown bread, as well as mashed potatoes. I ordered my steak medium, my fiance ordered hers rare, upon receiving them, it is clear they put our steaks on at the same time, and pulled hers minutes before pulling mine which resulted in her being served a steak that was cool to the touch. Also, when I got my steak, with a side of fries, this is the side of fries I received (reference picture).
The ONLY reason I would come back to this restaurant is because of the server. Kelsey was very apologetic for the things we were unhappy with, despite them being issues with management and the kitchen.
Yes. I ordered a medium rare, because if you screw up and cook it too long I still get a steak I can eat, if you cook it to short I get a steak I can eat. But I have never, ever, had a steak cooked like this there’s a good quarter inch of “crust” on the sides and then it was pulled. I think it may have hit rare, but I’m not sure if got a single degree above 115. But MAN does it have a crust!
I never, Ever, EVER complain when I get it to go, but come on guys you got a do better. Stop trying to scorch the outsides and rush food out.
