My partner and I visited this location on Friday, December 12 for our anniversary. We arrived at 9pm. Although they close at 10pm, they still charge full price. So you’d expect the same level of service as any other paying customer, correct? Wrong.
We were sat in an empty area of the restaurant. Tables were dirty as shown in the pictures, with no active effort to clean in a timely manner. Only four cutters came by in a span of 20 minutes. There were no scalloped potatoes in the salad area.
Despite asking for specific cuts, none came. I never received my drink order from the bar.
My partner and I got up, spoke to the manager, and left. Will not return.
A reservation was made for 7:45 and we were seated around 8:15. I do not have an issue with this.
What I do have an issue with is the cleanliness of the restaurant, the upkeep of the salad bar area and the service.
Regarding cleanliness, there were several greasy places on the floor, as well as larger particles of food. My foot slipped while walking, if I had been wearing dress shoes I would have surely fallen. Aside from safety, it was just gross to see. When sat at a back table in the corner, which I have no issue with, looking around I saw food under tables that were already prepped for new guests, but had never been swept under. There was also food particles in the normal walkway. Additionally, regarding cleanliness, some of the gauchos that came were very sloppy with setting their tray down on the table to prepare the meat for us. Some sloshed grease onto our table and did not attempt to wipe it up.
Our server was not attentive at all, but I do not know how many tables that she had to handle for that night. We many times had empty glasses for extended periods of time. The only thing we were drinking was water, so I felt like it would have been easy to refill more often.
I attended the salad bar and there were many items that were not restocked, including the au gratin potatoes, rice and other items. The salad bar also had several places where dressings, food and oil had been dropped and not cleaned. Understanding that this is a busy area, that was not as important but definitely worth mentioning.
I had never been to this location and won’t be returning. I’m sure that it was difficult to staff Christmas day, but if that is the case, they should have remained closed instead of giving diners that expect a typical Brazilian experience, something subpar instead.
My only other complaint, which is probably a positive for some families that dine here, is that a side brought to the table is French fries…very odd. I have never had French fries at a churrascaria before and I don’t think it adds to the experience, unless you have children that are picky eaters. It made the experience seem very cheap.
The self serve buffet had a large selection to choose from, and they were all soooo good. Honestly I’d come here just to eat stuff from the buffet lol. The potato salad was chef’s kiss.
The meat options were just as good, especially the filet mignon and the different steaks.
Will definitely be returning! Texas de Brazil is now our go to for a Brazilian steakhouse experience!
We came for my husband’s birthday and everything was on point.
The salad bar is fresh and even if you just have greens and dressing, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely start off with a cocktail or glass of wine to get your appetite going.
Monica was awesome, she checked on us at the right time each time, kept our waters full and drinks ordered. My mom likes her meats cooked a little more past medium, they were happy to cook some for her, no question! (The meats are medium rare, which I love, but that’s a preference)
Personally, going Sunday evening is the best time, not to crowded and the servers always had what we wanted for options, 5 stars all around!
