I had the time of my life eating breakfast here.
Our waitress was the sweetest human being. I want to be her best friend. I can’t wait to return.
The poached eggs on the classic avocado toast were cooked to perfection.
The eggwich exceeded my expectations. I received pleasure with every bite.
Outstanding atmosphere.
The temperature of each drink was unmatched.
The smiles that we came across were joyous.
Even the parking lot was fantastic.

Today my sister and I dined at social eats and honestly it was a rollercoaster. The experience started out amazing, our server was the sweetest and such a delight to be served by. We ordered a couple cocktails and a charcuterie board and were having a great time, until the bill came out. While glancing over the check we realized we were charged an extra 7$ on top of the 18$ price stated on the menu, confused we asked our server. She was very quick to act, apologized, and went to ask the owner how to fix this issue. When brought to her attention the owner promptly shooed the server away and claimed that, that was the price. When we asked to speak to the owner with no apology or sincerity, she began deflecting her own error and blaming the server, who again was amazing, she claimed the board was 18 with the option of meat or cheese, which the menu actually states the exact opposite and we were not asked any following questions when ordering. She attempted to refund our TIP instead of giving back the 3.50 she wrongfully charged us for. both my sister and I have been working in restaurants since we’ve been old enough to work, so this is not a foreign concept. What we’ve taken away from our experience is the owner is rude, cheap, and apparently incapable of taking accountability. We will NOT be returning, and we hope your wonderful staff are able to find a job where they’re respected. This is a picture of the attempted 25$ charcuterie board and what was stated on the menu.

We stopped here on our way to NYC from Cooperstown, and so glad we did! This place is great for breakfast, brunch, lunch, drinks + apps or even dinner. The ambiance and atmosphere was welcoming, comfortable with indoor and outdoor spacious seating. Very quaint and such attention to detail. I also admired that the food is locally grown, fair-trade, organic, and the most important, savory and fresh meals. We had salmon avocado toast, chai latte, hazelnut ice coffee, Caesar salad, classic avocado toast, and rainbow cookies. All our food was tasty. All the staff were extremely pleasant especially our waitress Kristen A. To the owner, thank you for your vision, creativity and thoughtfulness with Social Eats Cafe. We truly enjoyed it. (I’m sorry I didn’t think to take photos until we left.)

I cannot say enough good things about the food! It was SO fresh and delicious. It is hard to find vegan options, but they hit it out of the ballpark! The vegan options were so good! The Vegan was so fresh and light! 10/10

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve dined in, but Social Eats is still one of my favorite spots for a good salad. Their homemade balsamic vinaigrette is SO good, and the ingredients are always fresh. The salmon and chicken are a nice protein add on too! I’m also obsessed with their pumpkin soup in the fall—seriously delicious! The paninis are great too.
Last time I was there, the drinks were kind of a letdown. They used to serve mimosas in a big wine glass (which felt like a deal), but now it’s a champagne flute for the same price – maybe this has changed since I was last in though. Also, the service can be pretty slow and not super friendly. If the owner’s working, the experience tends to be more positive.
Parking can be a bit difficult since it gets busy quick, so I recommend going early. I love the Oneonta mural they added outside and the inside is really cute! It’s also great that they offer several outdoor seating options as well and they’re dog friendly! Definitely worth a stop if you’ve got some extra time!

This is my favorite restaurant in Oneonta – they make the best lattes in the city, the food is fresh, and they have specials that change. The Social burger is absolutely amazing. The tiramisu is excellent. I love how you can get the option for a side salad instead of fries. They have a casual but upscale vibe and play jazz music. Overall I love this place and can’t recommend highly enough!

Social eats is one of our favorite spots in town! As a local we not only come here often, but it is also our go-to place to bring out-of-town company out to eat!
From the friendly staff, to the delicious food, and lovely atmosphere, it is enjoyable all around.
The flavor combinations are scrumptious and we look forward to the seasonal specials. The all season outside space is our preferred place to sit as it offers warmth In the winter and the ability to play the yard games in the summer while we wait for our food (kids favorite!).
Definitely recommend a stop at this local restaurant. Owner Michelle and her team are amazing, thankful to have them bringing such a wonderful experience to Oneonta.
