Smyrna is an absolute gem in Ramsey. The food is amazingly delicious, fresh, and full of unique flavors that really stand out compared to other Greek spots in the area. Every dish tastes like it was made with care, and you can tell the ingredients are high quality. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with warm lighting and thoughtful decorations that make the whole place feel comfortable and inviting.
One of the highlights is the manager, who is also the chef. She’s incredibly friendly and genuinely passionate about what she does. You can feel that energy in both the service and the food. She takes the time to talk to guests, explain dishes, and make sure everyone is having a great experience. It adds such a personal touch.
Overall, I had a really nice time here. Great food, warm atmosphere, and wonderful hospitality. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend to others.

I had an hour or so to spare before a train I had to catch back to the city and my wandering feet led me to Smyrna, a tiny Mediterranean spot that immediately felt like stumbling into someone’s well-loved home.

Love the design and color interior is made from. More descent and calm feeling with best service and fresh food. Falafel plate was delicious with perfect crunch with fries. Highly recommended.

This is a truly beautiful restaurant with an amazing kitchen. All Mediterranean foods here are especially wonderful, almost like little pieces of art made with great care and passion. I highly recommend this place to everyone. You should definitely keep coming back here. The presentation of the menu is elegant and well thought out. This wasn’t the first time I ordered food from Smyrna while visiting my son in Mahwah so I knew the taste. This time I needed meal for the party of 7 adults and a child, a small family reunion. The app only allowed me to order under $200 so I was able to order only 6 portions and was worried that it wouldn’t be enough. I also had asked Smyrna to send some plates with utensils so that everyone can taste everything by sharing the meal. At first, they said that they didn’t have any plates (they didn’t have to provide plates). However, they sent some good quality paper plates along with the food. My family came from Brooklyn where they have been eating at the various Mediterranean restaurants. They were very impressed with the taste and the quality of Smyrna’s food, and it was plenty of food to share. My family went back to Brooklyn very happy thank you from the bottom of my heart Smyrna!

We went in with 2 kids on a Monday afternoon and we could see people at other tables happily relishing their food and we knew we were at the right place. We made a reservation and it is highly recommended. The food was great! And the 2 kids could not stop complimenting the owner of how much they loved the food.
