This place is fantastic, total hidden gem. I have Celiac disease and the restaurant caters well to folks with allergies. The storefront is a quick service with a few tables and a TV to watch sports. Nothing fancy but a self serve soda fountain.

The food quality is surprisingly good. Food just as good as a sit down diner at cheaper prices. I had salmon and chicken Schwarma, dolmas, baba, and hummus with falafel. I wish this place was where we lived. We would be regulars.

Ordered the crispy Chawarma. Ohhh it was crispy alright…more like totally burnt on one side. Took 2 bites and all I could taste was burnt. The meat in those 2 bites I took had cartilage in it. The Shawarma dropped with what I think was grease. It’s wasn’t sauce as it was clear.
Won’t be going back….very disappointed!
First impressions are suppose to be everything! Not impressed!
(Word of advice, use a panini press instead of the flat top grill to crisp the crispy Chawarma. You’re less likely to burn the thing!)

Charlie, the manager of the Marshall Street restaurant founded by his father, recently closed this campus favorite after a run of about 50 years. He reopened in a small space on West Genesee Street opposite Fairmount Fair. The falafels, chawarma, and chicken pesto pizza are terrific and the baba ganoush is outstanding. In the past, I preferred the Fayetteville King David’s restaurant, run by the other brother, Nadir, because of the ease of parking, but now they are equal in convenience, quality, and service.

King David’s is always on point. Don’t be afraid to ask questions of the cooks if it’s your first time. The board and the order kiosk can be a little intimidating and the register is down the isle from there, so it can be confusing if it’s your first time. The food is amazing from start to finish.

This is a good place for Mediterranean food. My gyro was very good. The humus was excellent and the falafel was outstanding. I was take out but order was right there. They have outside seating and nice feel inside ( no table service)

Nope. This is a take out place that happens to have seating. Meat was good. Sauces are weak. Baba ganoush was not creamed right out—chunks of eggplant. Falafel was dry.

WOW. Food was authentic, incredibly good, and very fairly priced. Service was kind and friendly. They even offered a generous military discount which is never expected but always appreciated.

Our Server made sure we had what we needed but didn’t pester us, and the manager even stopped by to see how our food was. Very mom & pop family owned feel. Everyone seemed happy to be working there.

My wife has Celiac and a dairy allergy. While they don’t currently have a separate GF menu (it’s in the works), they were able to give recommendations and tailor her order.

They DO have a dedicated fryer so GF customers can enjoy fries and falafel as well.

The Chwarma and Sweet Potato fries were killer. Hummus and falafel were also out of this world. The baklava was homemade and top notch. A+ I will be a repeat customer.

King David Fairmount is definitely the BEST restaurant in not only Upstate NY, but all of NYS! It is a restaurant where the food is so delicious that I have to actually stop myself from crying because I’m so overwhelmed by amazingness! It is a go to restaurant for us.

The first thing I have to mention is the freshness of the food! The veggies are crisp, the flavors are bright and vibrant, and everything is in house made. They also use premium ingredients. I feel like that makes a huge difference and definitely lends to the amazing quality of the dishes. When I want real, fresh food, I can count on King David.

We are vegetarian and consider ourselves foodies. I love that KD has so many tasty vegetarian options. The hummus, baba ganoush and falafel are to die for! Any of the bowls (the farro bowl is outstanding!) are a great choice as is the vegetarian platter. The baklava…OMG! I feel a tear coming to my eye just thinking about it. Craving just 1 more piece.

The restaurant is comfortable, welcoming and spotless. The prices are excellent and you get a very generous amount of food, regardless of what you order. I also totally love the staff! They are so great at helping you get exactly what you want and suggesting new dishes. Eating here is just an all around excellent experience! I really love King David. If you haven’t been, you are missing out on a slice of heaven.
