Everyone ahead of us had grabbed disposable plastic cups, so we did the same. At the register, the hostess “Ashley” said nothing—no greeting, no “Happy Thanksgiving”—just started ringing us up. When she asked what we were drinking, I told her we had waters. Suddenly there was a charge of 50 cents per cup. I asked why, and she said those cups cost extra. I told her we didn’t need “special cups” and asked which cups were the correct ones.
Someone in my group went to get the proper cups. Instead of simply adjusting the order, the hostess deleted my entire meal and told me I had to go all the way back to the end of the line to be rung up again. After waiting so long already, I told her that wasn’t reasonable and asked her to just ring up the food without drinks. At that moment, the assistant manager came over and took all of our cups away.
She continued deleting my food and then began ringing up the customer behind me before I had even paid. Several people in line spoke up and said it was wrong and unfair. She then called over a manager, and multiple employees stood together whispering, pointing, and laughing while speaking in Spanish. When the hostess finally returned, she said, with attitude, “Girl, I’m only 16,” as if that excused the disrespect. I told her that if she couldn’t be kind to customers, maybe the front register wasn’t the right job for her—especially on Thanksgiving.
It was also extremely unhygienic that Ashley had two leftover fake nails on that didn’t even match, and her hands were crusty and covered in old, peeling nail glue. For someone handling cups, trays, and food orders, it was very concerning. Either kept up manicure or clean short nails. This was disgustingly unacceptable.
We were finally seated with no drinks (they literally took our waters away). Then after nearly $60, sadly, things only got worse.
• The food was cold, bland, and honestly not edible.
• No Thanksgiving items were available—not even cranberry sauce. Cranberry sauce is a must!
• The corn muffins were ice cold in the middle.
• The brownies were hard around the edges, like they had been sitting out for days.
• The person at the table next to us threw up the food they were eating (at the table), which was alarming.
• Our server, though polite, set a stack of dirty plates from another table onto ours.
• One guest in a wheelchair was seated with his back against the buffet line, and customers kept bumping into him every few seconds. It was unsafe and unacceptable.
The entire restaurant felt chaotic, unorganized, dirty, and poorly managed. Staff was rude, and unprofessional. This was by far the worst Golden Corral experience I’ve ever had. I genuinely regret spending our Thanksgiving meal—and our money—here. My family deserved better, and this location desperately needs new training, new leadership, and much better standards.
Btw, I never write reviews, but I had to today!
The line outside was INSANE — it had to be at least 500 people long. After finally getting inside, we had a small mix-up with the drink cup size (super easy mistake), and that’s when we met Ashley.
I’m not sure how to say this nicely… Ashley was an absolute beast. She talked to us with the most attitude I’ve ever seen in customer service. She hit us with a loud “girllll,” rolled her eyes, and demanded we go all the way back to the end of that massive line. Over a cup. On Thanksgiving. Then she threw in, “I’m only 16 now,” like that excused the way she talked to us.
It honestly felt like she was going out of her way to be rude.
And as if that wasn’t enough, someone literally threw up near our table, and it just sat there forever before anyone did anything. Super gross.
The food wasn’t any better — barely warm, not fresh, and shockingly nothing special for Thanksgiving. For such a busy holiday, it felt like they didn’t prepare at all.
I never leave reviews, but this was so bad I wouldn’t want anyone else to waste their holiday here.
