I had an enjoyable lunch here today.
Brooke was my waitress and she was great.
I ordered the Guacamole and Chips appetizer ($14) and had them add salsa to it. I had the double lunch special of Cochinita Pibil ($10) with beans and rice.
The Cochinita Pibil was fantastic! (5*) The pork chunks were very tender and the sauce was very delicious. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. I also really enjoyed the beans and rice (4*).
The guacamole was very bland even with the salsa mixed in (2*). I had to add their smoked salsa and citrus salsa to put any life in the dish.
I thought the atmosphere was very pleasant. There were a number of families and groups of adults in the restaurant with me.
I really enjoyed my lunch and will come here again.

(If you’re a fan of guacamole, I highly recommend the guacamole fresca at Bella’s Fresh Mexican restaurant in Farr West. It is outstanding.)

So glad Snelgrove is finally open in Bluffdale! The shop looks amazing—super clean and has that perfect nostalgic vibe. The ice cream is just as creamy as the original, and the staff was really friendly. Such a great addition to the neighborhood! ✨

Sonora Grill continues to be one of my go-to spots. I’ve been here probably 20 times, and it’s a place I keep coming back to for good reason. The presentation of the food is always amazing, and they hands-down have the best salsa around. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m addicted to it — it’s honestly one of the main reasons we will continue to come back.

The atmosphere is awesome and makes for a great dining experience whether you’re out with family or friends. The server was amazing, attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of from start to finish.

This visit, I tried the chimichanga, and while it looked fantastic, it just wasn’t my favorite. For me, it had too much breading and not enough meat, which is why I’m giving the food four stars instead of five. That said, I’ve had many other dishes here that are excellent. The carne asada is amazing, the coconut rice is outstanding, and the carnitas are very good as well.

Even when a dish doesn’t quite hit for me, Sonora Grill is still a place I enjoy and recommend. Between the service, atmosphere, and that salsa, I’ll absolutely be back.

Ten outta 10. The only thing that could have been better is if they still had tableside guac. I had the very best chile rellano of my entire life here. Sooo ooey gooey cheesy and perfect breaded. The carnitas was so tender and crispy and the flan was just the right amount of sweet.

I would definitely eat here again. While it is not traditional Mexican food, it was delicious. The coconut rice was soft and mildly sweet. The carne asada plate was pretty good. I was not a huge fan of the mint in the green topping, but it was good nonetheless. The red salsa was quite unique and reminded me of something like a salsa macha.

Just a couple of things that really don’t matter a ton, but could be improved. My corn tortillas fell apart on me. They likely were not fresh. The flank steak was not exactly cut against the grain. It was sliced diagonally, so kind of against the grain. Cutting it against the grain would have improved eating it in a tortilla. Each tortilla I filled with meat I had to pull full pieces of meat out when I took a bite because I could not bite through the steak.

The flank steak was juicy and delicious. I tried the chile verde that my wife got and it was also really good. I don’t think you can go wrong eating here.

Like I said, the food was delicious and I will go back if we are in the area.

We were just driving along then found this gem. It was mid afternoon so it wasn’t as busy. We were greeted by Jonas and I knew that we would have a great experience. Then came the selection of just wonderful scrumptious looking food. He answered all our inquiries and he didn’t disappoint with his recommendations. I ordered the steak salad and my hubby, the chimichanga. The presentation was one that you would see in a 5 star restaurant. They’re sooo good. My palate was satisfied with the explosion of flavors. The meat was tender and flavorful. Then came the flan with whipped topping drizzled with toasted coconut. And the cookie on the side. The flan was silky smooth and bites if the cookie finished it with a bang. We found a new favorite place. Definitely coming back.

Sonora Grill in Ogden was absolutely amazing. The queso platter alone is worth the visit — they make it right in front of you, and it is hands down one of the most delicious queso dips I’ve ever had. Fresh, rich, and full of flavor.

I had the chile verde bowl with red rice, and it was the perfect portion. Every bite was savory and flavorful — not bland or lacking like you often find at other Mexican-American restaurants. You can really taste the quality and care in the food.

I honestly think I’ve found my new favorite place for Mexican-American food. I’d highly recommend going here with your significant other first so you can really enjoy the atmosphere and experience, and then coming back with the kids to fully take in everything this place has to offer. We will definitely be back

Surreal ambiance. They’ve got the entire psychology of elegant presentation down pat. The waiter was very helpful, friendly, funny, and most attentive. The food was brought out quickly, and it looked like a famous chef had prepared our meals. Gorgeous presentation. Quiet and intimate ambiance. We had a most pleasant experience, and we will be returning.
