Pizzas & a handful of pasta & meat dishes in a blue-walled room with wood accents, plus a garden.

Leon d’Oro: Exceptional Artisan Pizza
A top-tier choice for high-quality artisan pizza.

The dough is the star – made from stone-ground flour, it is thin, light, and highly digestible due to a long leavening process.

Top Pick: The simple Margherita con Burrata Affumicata.

⚠️ Pro Tip: This is served “cruda” style – the smoked burrata is added fresh after baking (cool cheese on a warm crust). Delicious, but specifically for those who like that contrast!

Prefer melted cheese? Go for the Margherita “Fior di Latte”. The cheese is creamy, sweet, and melts perfectly without making the crust soggy.

The Bottom Line:

Service: Fast and professional, even during the evening rush.

Price: Excellent value (€8.50–€13).

Overall: Authentic, light, and highly recommended!

This was some of the best pizza we had in Verona! The burrata pizza was especially delicious. Really lovely and efficient staff and a beautiful setting – no wonder this place was packed out! Also very close to the arena if you’re heading to the opera. Would recommend very highly!

Great food and the setting is perfect. The food is built on freshness and quality of ingredients. The portions are more than generous. The food was served hot and fresh. Even without a reservation, we were seated promptly and had a great experience. Make a reservation should you want to visit. The location in a private courtyard/garden is perfect during good weather.

We really enjoyed our lunch in this delightful restaurant. Set back from the road in some very pretty gardens, its quiet ambience was a lovely rest from the road. We have been hoping to find a good pizzeria in Verona and we’re not disappointed. They had a very good selection of different pizzas with some specialities.
The pizza was very fresh and was delicious. Worth a visit in you are in this part of town. The staff were very friendly and spoke both Italian and English.

This restaurant is special! We arrived late into Verona and walked in at 9.45pm. Excellent welcome, seated immediately and super fast service. The food was high quality and excellent value. We ordered a simple pizza which was the best we have tried (anywhere). The salad was fresh and crisp and the Burrata with anchovies was also delicious. Wonderful beer selection too. I wish we could have visited in Summer and enjoyed the lovely garden terrace!

Oh my gosh, I wanna go back to Verona Italy just for this one pizza place. It was so amazing! Service was great! They got us seated, even though we didn’t have a reservation, but I highly recommend that you have one! It gets pretty busy. This place is really popular! They have all different sorts of pizzas and a whole wine list. It’s fabulous! And you’re seated outside in what feels like a garden area which is really cool! So pretty!

In 8 days spent in Verona the Leon D’oro Pizzeria restaurant was our most enjoyable experience. The pizza bread was far more deicious than any we tried, as was the rest of the food we ate, and the outside tables were quiet, well spaced and removed from the street noise. Service was dependable and attentive. The price was very fair.

Highly recommended!
