Update: We already went back for sandwiches and bagels again, and the bagels were chewy this time! YAY!
Based on the mixed reviews, we did not know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised at how the delicious the sandwiches were! My husband got the meatball sandwich and I got a half, loaded Amighetti special sandwich, which was huge! It was so fresh and “loaded” with great ingredients! We’ve had the bagels a few times, and the first couple of times, they were chewy–as a bagel should be. The last time, they were not, so that was a bit disappointing, but we will try them again. We liked the sandwiches enough that we will be going back again within the week (and I am not a huge sandwich fan!). I am also not a desert fan but do like carrot cake–and I’m very particular. Decided to try the Hank’s carrot cake cheesecake. While it was not a cheesecake but simply a carrot cake with amazing cream cheese frosting, I thoroughly enjoyed it…and ate too much. LOL!

By far the best meatballs I have ever had in my entire life. The taosted rav and salad were amazing too. The owner (I’m assuming it was the owner) was really nice and the atmosphere was very casual and comfortable. This will most likely be my go to place when I am up that way from here on out

Today 7/5/25, me and my sister had the honor of meeting the owner “Anthony”! His customer service was phenomenal and he was patient with us as we decided amongst the many options of cheesecake for desert. I was happy to get a chance to tell him just how amazing his business is. Me and my sister frequent this business almost once a week that’s how AMAZING Ameghetti’s is!! From the rustic feeling of history and amazing aromas fuming out of this place; there is sooo much to love and try here. As you can see in the photos, the food was so good and is always so good that I literally intend to take photos and always seem to forget because I’m eager to chow down. The tortellini is sooooo savory and bursting with flavors from the different cheeses. They have sandwiches which are also amazing. Just as well as their salads! They also have bagels, cannolis, etc. If you are in the hill area, definitely give it a try!!

We did a pick up order. There is a designated pickup station, which is nice that you aren’t stuck in line with those who have not ordered. Its lovely inside. The sandwiches are delicious! Would do it again!

I ordered the Amighetti’s Special Sandwich and it was tasty. The sandwich is thick with six slices each of ham, salami, roast beef’s, Swiss cheese, and tomatoes. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The French bread wasn’t as fluffy and freshly made. Instead it was a little dense. Some people believe my mouth is big enough to fit half a sandwich but that’s not true. I ordered the whole sandwich (9 inch loaf) and I was full. We dined in and sat at the rail along the window and it was fun people watching. I’m going to try a pasta dish next time.

Strangely enough Sandwich Club STL has never done a review on Amighetti’s. Its a St Louis/Hill institution. Maybe because the old location was always super busy and their wasn’t a ton of seating to cater a small group comfortably. The new location(in the Hill) is beautiful bright and clean with lots of seating. We went at noon ish on a Sunday. Although busy we got a seat by the window. We ordered the Amighetti’s Loaded Special (Whole) :- With sliced ham, roast beef, salami, and St. Louis style cheese. Featuring their Signature Special dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and pepperoncini.
We also ordered the Turkey Special (Half) :-Turkey and St. Louis style cheese. Featuring their Signature Special dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and pepperoncini. We also got some chips and potato salad for our sides and fountain sodas. There is a reason they have been around so long. Our sandwiches were excellent. I loved the potato salad too as the ingredients were balanced perfect, not too mayonnaisey (is that a word ?) it is now. This place is a classic for Italian style sandwiches. Cant wait to go back and try the meatball and Beef and gravy. We loved it & will be back with the rest of our group. Cheers ! #fortheloveofsandwiches

Decided to try something new today. The Special sandwich was quite tasty. I got it with the sauce on the side. The service was good. Polite order taker and wasn’t too busy. The restaurant could be a little noisy on a busy day but wasn’t too bad.

Service is amazing the workers are so nice, the atmosphere was incredible to say the least. Service on 11:30 at night on a Monday and I was blown away. Came here for work live 5 hours away and can confidently say I’ll be coming back to stl just for the cheesecake & lasagna. I wouldn’t say this lightly because i’m a huge cheesecake fan, but best I have ever had. The lasagna tasted so fresh like they freshly made the pasta dough this morning. Great restaurant 10/10
