There was 4 of us and 3 of us got the seasonal Smoked Old Fashioned (highly recommend it!), our other friend got a tap cider and said it was very good. I got the fish tacos (delicious and very filling!) and my husband got the baked chicken and Mac and Cheese (again delicious and very filling).
We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, served with tortilla chips. The chips were perfectly salted, and the dip arrived hot and creamy. A perfect appetizer!
For my entree, I went with the French dip sandwich. The bread-to-meat-to-cheese ratio was spot on, and the fries on the side were crispy and evenly salted. My one minor note: the horseradish sauce leaned mild, but that’s more of a “me problem”.
My wife ordered the Chicken Toscano, which was a standout! Tender chicken, crispy breading, buttery rustic vegetables, and a pasta with a lovely peppery flavor. Our daughter was happy too, which is half the battle.
Drinks were also a highlight. I enjoyed a salted caramel porter that paired beautifully with the French dip, while my wife opted for the Lion Lemonade. Both were great choices.
Service was friendly without being intrusive. Attentive enough that you never felt forgotten, relaxed enough that you could actually enjoy your conversation.
Yes, the prices sit in the higher range, but the quality of the food and the overall atmosphere make it easy to justify. This is the kind of place you take someone to make an impression. Highly recommended for a special occasion or a night when you just want to treat yourself right.
I ordered the burger, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a while. Juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The brioche bun was soft but held together nicely, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. Even the fries were crisp and seasoned just right.
Overall, Thirsty Lion delivers quality food with a relaxed pub vibe. Definitely a place I’d come back to!
I ordered an IPA along with the Poke Stack with Tuna, and it ended up being a standout. The tuna was fresh and well-balanced with the other ingredients — flavorful, nicely seasoned, and not overwhelmed by sauces the way some poke dishes can be. It was surprisingly refined for a pub-style menu item, and I would definitely order it again.
Service was friendly and easygoing, in line with the casual setting. It’s not the sort of place for a slow, lingering fine-dining experience — it’s more about grabbing good food, enjoying drinks, and spending time with people.
Overall, Thirsty Lion is a solid pick when you want a comfortable spot to relax with a beer and good food. The IPA selection is strong, the menu has variety, and the poke stack was excellent. Ideal for low-key nights out with friends.
The appetizer we ordered was the spinach artichoke dip. It was okay, but not impressive. My wife ordered the fish and chips, and it was a hit; she really enjoyed the flavors. I ordered a cheeseburger, medium-rare, which arrived slightly more rare than expected, but it wasn’t a major issue. The flavor was acceptable, but not particularly memorable. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her hibiscus basil lemonade. I ordered a beer flight with six different beers and found it well worth it.
The restaurant’s atmosphere isn’t conducive to intimate conversation not sure if it is like that all the time though. The bagpipe performance, being a St. Patrick’s Day celebration was a cool touch. If I were in the area again, I would definitely give Thirsty Lion another shot.
Service was absolutely insane, and the server was incredible. I think her name was Fahten.
I wanted ice, she got me ice… I changed my mind and wanted no ice she dumped it out immediately and filled it up. I didn’t drink it at all, proceeded to order a dirty martini with blue cheese olives back to back.
We threw 10 different modifications on 5 different menu items and she memorized it all no note pad… incredible.
This is our new spot for our entire company. They will be getting lots of business and put it all on my business card. This is tax write off central guys.
