An absolutely impeccable experience in every way. I discovered Isola last May and have been a regular guest since – having to show self restraint not to go every night they are open! The food, the wine, the lighting, the music – stellar! It’s cozy, intimate, sexy and welcoming. Hillary, the owner, is so knowledgeable about wine yet humble and unpretentious. I love her selections so much that I now subscribe to her quarterly wine club shipped directly to my home. Chef Mikayla nails it with the every single dish balanced to perfection. The croquettas are a constant fave of mine coupled with a bright citrus & olive salad. And OMG, the meatballs! Recently she made fresh gnocchi and it was literally the best gnocchi I’ve ever had in my life. Easily one of my favorite spots in the Hudson Valley. Had an amazing evening at Isola. The wine list is so unique and they did a great job helping us navigate which wines to try. So many good ones! The food was delicious and my favorite way to eat while drinking wine. Lots of small plates that are inventive yet refined. Our faves were the chickpea cake and chicken liver mousse. Can’t wait to go back!

Wow we loved everything about this place. The food was SO good, every single dish was delicious, as was the wine! So happy to have this new wine bar in kinderhook!! It’s great for date nights on a night off from kids (it’s 21+), or to grab some drinks and tapas with a friend or two. So cozy and cute! Reservations are a must if you have a bigger group (4+) as the tables are on the smaller side and intimate. They have great bar seating too. (Probably better to go really early or later like 8 if you have a group)
The wine is absolutely delicious as the owner is a sommelier and hand picks wines you would never see on a regular wine menu at your local restaurant.
The tapas were all amazing! We enjoyed the scallop special, tuna tartar (I could’ve gotten a second one of these if I had room), eggplant caponata, sardine toast and omg the island panisse Everything was delicious in that head-nodding-when-you-take-that-first-bite-and-chewing kind of way. It’s so easy to drop in here for a glass of wine and some apps and then head over to the aviary for dinner, or eat here and then go to saisonner for a grilled cheese dessert!

I wish I lived closer to Isola because I would be a regular. Hillary has created such a welcoming and warm space. The vibe is laid-back country coastal, but beneath the casual atmosphere is a meticulously crafted wine bar with thoughtful intention for each and every item on the menu. It’s such a delight to explore all the unique wine regions that Isola highlights; I always leave having tried something new. They have also expanded their “Non Wine” offerings (their summer spritz is honestly the best I’ve ever had). The tapas are delicious and make for a fun and relaxed dinner. Isola truly is a gem.

My husband and I had a memorable meal here last night. We had five different dishes and ordered one of them twice. Every bite was delicate, delicious, and beautifully presented. Both the owner and the server were welcoming and helpful. I really enjoyed the atmosphere which was both refined and casual. Would love to return soon.
