The feature here is the Peruvian rotisserie chicken. If you don’t know what “Peruvian” chicken is it’s whole rotisserie chickens that are marinated and spiced. Usually quite delicious. You may procure said chickens in a variety of formats – whole, half, quarter, sandwich -> you get the idea. They have a cornucopia of side dishes of which many are delicious. The string beans are fresh and crispy delicious. The rice is amazing – that must be one of your choices. You can eat in of course but it is a bright and spartan environment. If you call ahead everything will be ready when you get there minimizing wait time.
They have some specials that are tempting. Like anything these days it is not inexpensive but you do feel like you are consuming something healthy and good for you. Solid four stars – bordering on 4.5.

Mr. Jack’s deserves more business. We were the only lunch patrons at 1pm on a nice Friday. Can a restaurant of any type last long with no foot traffic at all? Gotta wonder and its a shame.
Peruvian chicken is not gourmet, or a table-clothed dining affair. It’s a small cut above fast food. Picture quasi-Latin American Panera without being quite as healthful.
Mr. Jack’s does what they do well. Service with a smile, super-prompt and tasty enough. Everything was warm enough; nothing was not, which was okay.
Two of us had lunch, with tax and tip, for about $33 including canned soda. Hard to beat the taste for that price. The local manager is quite pleasant and friendly too; always a plus.

Some of the best food I’ve had in way too long. We each put half a chicken, which was a lot but doable. The Brussels were crisp and well seasoned and the star side dish was the plantains. Eager to go back soon!

Fresh, flavorful food in an extremely convenient location. I highly recommend you give it a try.
After moving to the area, we tried just about everywhere to find a place worthy of taking our traditional weekly takeout dinner spot.
After one bite of one of rotisserie chicken, the answer was obvious. Mr. Jack’s has become our weekly spot. I made sure to sneak bites from everyone else’s dishes around the table as well.

I visited Mr. Jack’s for lunch today, it was my first time here. Overall I was impressed and happy with my experience. The location was clean and inviting. The menu was huge! I wasn’t expecting all of the options! I decided to get the dark meat chicken quarter with plantains and Brussel sprouts. The sides were amazing. The chicken had good flavor but was a little dry. That would be my only complaint. My dad got a quarter of the white meat and it was perfect. I am excited to go back and try more things on the menu. I think this restaurant is a great addition to Eldersburg!

Gave this place a try Friday night, would definitely like to give them another chance! They show promise! They close at 9, I went around 8:15 and the food was decent but it wasn’t fresh. It felt like they were just trying to hold out until closing. However I think if I try them again when they’re busier it’ll be perfect! I got two drumsticks and they were great! Meat was a little fatty but that’s not their fault! The sides were meh ♀️ green beans were good, but needed just a tad more flavor. Mashed potatoes (not pictured as my brother got then) were really good! Roasted potatoes just meh, nothing spectacular. The sweet potato fries were amazing definitely worth a try! (From a woman who doesn’t even really like sweet potatoes!) and the Rice was amazing too! There was a lot of oil at the bottom of the container which I’m not sure why for rice?? But it was still delish! However only complaint was a side of rice by itself (we couldn’t decide between rice or potatoes so we tried both!) the side by itself was $4 which, it wasn’t a small portion but still seems steep for one side? ♀️ They also have sauces to dip, a mild and hot. The mild was described as a mustard/mayonnaise sauce, it was delicious! And the Hot was a jalapeño sauce, it tasted HOT like they took jalapeños and threw them in the blender and put them in a cup if you like spice give it a try! Definitely want to try them again, but will wait until it’s busier!

The chicken is spectacular…, I got the mild sauce which was flavorful and complemented the chicken perfectly.
I must recommend the BRUSSELS SPROUTS — they were crispy, flaky and nicely seasoned. Notice they didn’t make the picture because I ate them on the way home!

I tried the 1/2 chicken platter with (2 sides) black beans and chaufa rice and a small extra side of fried plantains, I paid 19.05 for it. This was really really good!!! The chicken was fresh and juicy even at 730 at night and the sides I ordered were extremely good. If you order an extra side the small is plenty, the guy who made my platter jammed packed my fried plantains into the container. It was definitely worth the money I will be back. I’m so happy they fi ally have a great Peruvian spot in Eldersburg and I don’t have to travel to Towson to get it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet in the area!!!!
