It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends. Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round. Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood! At the Shrimp Basket, our goal is to make sure that you – our friends – leave happy and satisfied after every visit.

While visiting my father in law, my wife, myself, son, daughter in law and three grandkids decided to visit The Shrimp Basket for dinner. We entered the building and was immediately seated after the staff pulled two tables together to accommodate all of us. Jalen, our waitress, was very quick to take drink orders as well as appetizers while answering questions we had about menu items. This review is only for my appetizer and dinner since everyone was chatting and I didn’t want to invade on their meal with a bunch of questions, but I will say, everyone in our party was very pleased with the service as well as the meal!
I had fried crab claws for an appetizer and they were presented hot and very fresh. Lightly battered and very tasty. For entre, I had the fried flounder, with fries, 2 hush puppies, 2 corn fritters and cole slaw. While I enjoyed the fries and cole slaw, I have to say both were very basic, although served at perfect temps. Hush puppies and corn fritters were very good. The highlight of the meal was the huge portion of fried flounder. This was some of the tastiest, freshest flounder I have ever had. Breading was light, not overpowering, had a great flavor but the fish itself was amazing. I would strongly recommend this to any fish lover. Review would not be complete without giving Jalen kudos. Very professional, very knowledgeable about menu items and had a great sense of humor. Many thanks to her for taking great care of our party.
If you haven’t visited the Perdido Bay Shrimp Basket, give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed!

We visited this location while visiting the Gulf Shores area. Hailey P. was our waitress. She very friendly & prompt with serving us. Our food came out quickly & at the proper temperature. We both ordered the shrimp basket combo. The shrimp, fries, & hush puppies were satisfactory. The coleslaw was creamy & sweet. Just the way I like it which I find few places to have. My husband had a nice side salad. I had the seafood gumbo. It was delicious & my favorite part of my meal. We felt that price was fair for the area & quality of food & service. It was very quiet as we were the only customers there at the time.

This past Wednesday I had the pleasure of being served by Haley at the Perdido Key Shrimp Basket. I had the Reel Deal Peel and eat Shrimp which was seved with new potatoes and corn, I had a cup of etoufee for a starter, iced tea and a slice of key lime pie. To top it off, it was locals day and I was given a choice of onion strings or pickle appetizer. It was more than I could eat and all very good

My family and I are on vacation and visited twice. We have a large party and both times we had the most wonderful server named Hailey(sp). She is the greatest and so friendly. She definitely deserves a big fat raise!! She went above and beyond to make our dining experience enjoyable. Thank you Hailey! The food was great but the service is spectacular.

The Shrimp Étouffée had over cooked mini shrimp and over cooked clump of rice but the soup had a good spice flavor.
Something fishy about the Grouper sandwich, definitely not edible tasted way too fishy. I had ordered the cheese grits but they were extremely dry and clumpy so I returned them.
Basically paid $30 for sweet potato fries and sweet tea. Didn’t eat the other food.

Delicious! They have updated their interior and menu since the last time we went, a couple years ago. One of our old menu favorites was the boom boom shrimp tacos, not currently on the new menu, but they were able to make it for us! So good!

We had an amazing experience at the Shrimp Basket in Perdido Key. Jaylyn P. And Darby were amazing and so accommodating with our fresh caught fish from the Gulf earlier that morning. They prepared fried, blackened, and Cajun grilled versions of our catch. It tasted amazing!! Highly recommend this place for your fresh caught fish!! And the price was FANTASTIC!!

We got the all-you-can-eat steamed shrimp, ordered a mermaid water and a Mai Tai and everything was incredible. Stosha was our waitress and she was a total sweetheart. Kept our shrimp coming quickly and saw we were putting them away quickly so she kept ordering us doubles. We definitely got their attention, the manager even paid us a visit.

We stopped in at The Shrimp Basket in Perdido Key and all ended up getting the fried shrimp baskets—no regrets! The shrimp were perfectly crispy without being too heavy, and the portions were super generous. The fries and hush puppies were delicious too, and everything came out hot and fresh. The atmosphere was relaxed and beachy, and our server was awesome—friendly and quick without rushing us. Definitely a go-to spot if you’re craving good seafood in a chill setting. We’ll be back for sure!
