THE SAIGON KITCHEN STORY Hey, TT here – chef & owner of The Saigon Kitchen. I grew up in a small coastal town in Vietnam, learning to cook from my mum before I could even reach the stove. She taught me how to handle a knife, cook over fire, and use fresh herbs the right way (hint: they’re not just for garnish). Vietnamese food is all about balance – fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and spice you can dial up or down with dipping sauces. Simple, clean, and packed with flavour. That’s exactly what we do here – no fuss, just real home-style Vietnamese cooking. Come try it.

Unbelievable food. Every bite start to finish was amazing. Crispy rolls are ridiculous and the tamarind cod is some of the best fish I’ve eaten. Amazing.

One of my favorite lunch places when I visited Bristol! The vegan Bun Hue Chay was wonderfully generous with veggies and amazingly scrumptious with just the right amount of acidity! The service was attentive and kind. All in all a do not miss out on food adventure!

Located in a quiet neighborhood, The Saigon Kitchen is such a good find in Bristol. It’s the freshness of the ingredients for me. It somehow took me back to finding slower corners in the old quarters of Hanoi- and the flavors are reminiscent of those days. Lovely staff and chef, very friendly. Will definitely come back when I’m in Bristol.

We went to eat for our dinner last night as we are craving for Vietnamese food we google the place and we manage to get the table without reservation. The front of the house or the waitress is very unfriendly and unwelcoming. She doesn’t even know how to smile nothing at all. Im going to review as honest as I can. The noodles was very greasy it was swimming with oil theres no any taste the noodles has no taste at all the portion was so small for the price. Their food is a little bit pricey. The spring rolls is very delicious and the summer rolls as well but very small portion. The green mango salad is so delicious I will recommend it. The fried rice is so good as well. The waitress should not be there to serve cos she was the most unfriendly waitress that I’ve seen in my life such a lonely person such a shame really. I asked for a small bowl of beef broth cos I just only want to eat the broth and Im willing to pay for it but she declined our request its only a small bowl of soup or broth but she refused to give us. She look so unhappy and unwelcoming. No one will come back if the person who is going to serve us is like that. She should be train properly for customer service.

The kids fried noodle is very salty. Full of soya source flavour.

The spring roll and the fish noodle sauce is very weird.

One of the staff is rude. Others are nice. It takes quite a long time for the food to get ready. The restaurant is very very crowded and noisy.

The best Vietnamese restaurant in Bristol. They have a unique array of dishes you can choose from that isn’t just your typical Pho. The smoothies are also incredible, I recommend the mango smoothie as the mango’s actually taste ripe and tropical compared to the British mango. It’s a smaller restaurant so I recommend booking beforehand because they can get very busy 🙂

What a great find.
We parked almost outside planning to go elsewhere but walked past saw everyone inside enjoying themselves checked out the menu and changed plans to eat here and boy aren’t I glad we did!
Really simple menu which made picking easy and I’m happy to say what we picked was amazing. Only thing I can fault about the place is the size it’s very cosy, the quality of the food here deserves a much bigger place.
