Vickery’s Bar & Grill Review | Mt. Pleasant, Sc

1313 Shrimp Boat Ln, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464

⭐ 4.1 out of 5 stars

Vickery’s Bar & Grill delivers a solid coastal dining experience with a laid-back vibe that feels right at home along the canal. The setting is easily one of its strongest cards—water views, boats drifting by, and a relaxed Lowcountry atmosphere that instantly puts you in vacation mode (even if you’re local).

The menu is impressively broad, offering everything from burgers and salads to pasta dishes, so there’s something for just about everyone at the table. Pair that with a tasty drink menu, and you’ve got a recipe for a very enjoyable meal. We hit it during the slow season, which meant zero wait time—a beautiful thing—and the staff was friendly and attentive without hovering.

Atmosphere-wise, the outdoor setting shines, but the interior tells a slightly older story. The inside and bar area feel a bit dated, and the bar itself could use a little TLC—nothing alarming, just noticeable. Also, fair warning: if you’re not a raw onion enthusiast, the salad onions come in hot and proud. Onion lovers will rejoice, everyone else might pick a few out.

Bottom line: Vickery’s is a great spot for good food, strong drinks, friendly service, and a canal-side view that does most of the heavy lifting. A little interior refresh would push it higher, but at 4.1 stars, it’s absolutely worth a stop—especially on a sunny, no-wait kind of day.

We had a fantastic experience here from start to finish. This restaurant is an excellent choice for high-quality seafood and more, all served in a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. While the prices are slightly on the higher side—as many places are these days—the quality of the food more than justifies the cost. Every dish we tried was well-prepared, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

The jambalaya was outstanding, packed with bold flavor and perfectly cooked ingredients. One of the highlights of the meal was the tower of fried green tomatoes, which was so impressive that I regretted not taking a photo before diving in. My wife ordered the blackened chicken bourbon Alfredo, and it was equally delicious—rich, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection.

Beyond the food, the restaurant offers a great marina-style vibe that adds to the overall experience. Whether you’re looking to enjoy excellent seafood, relax with a few drinks at the bar, or simply soak in the coastal atmosphere, this spot delivers. I would absolutely recommend it and look forward to returning.

Went for lunch today. “Erica from America” was our server and she was GREAT. She knew the menu inside and out. Service was quick and order was accurate.
I had the shrimp and grits which was enough for two people. My wife had the fried flounder sandwich which she wound up taking half home too.
There are lots of options in the area, but this is Definitely a go-to place when in Shem Creek.

Definitely the calmer side of Shem Creek but with great views! We ate on the deck and the view was lovely as the sun was going down. The tables were nice and spaced out so we didn’t feel like we were sitting on top of other people.
Prices are fair and our server was very attentive and friendly. Definitely great service!
I had the Ghost Melon Margarita and it was pretty good but didn’t really have much spice flavor.
We shared the Lowcountry Sauté over grits, which was a good choice because we didn’t get overly stuffed. It was cranky and the flavor was good, just no “wow factor” with our meal, hence the 4⭐. It was supposed to be in a bourbon butter sauce but I couldn’t taste any bourbon flavor.
I’d go back simply for the atmosphere. Lovely deck!

The host was not friendly at all – his greeting was just “how many?” and forgot to tell anyone he seated us. Say about 20 minutes before a guy (Nathan I think) came over and asked if we had been helped. He then ended up being our server even though we were not in his section. The food was absolutely delicious, we had the artichoke dip, burgers, the crab cake sandwich, and mouth watering key lime pie! Also the watermelon smash was a great drink!

Went to Morris island and then came to this restaurant before we headed back home. Amazing restaurant. Great location, food and service. Perfect sunset dinner. Our server, Hayden, was very polite and helpful. We truly enjoyed our meals. The Jambalaya was amazing.

I loved this place. I came here to eat oysters, since I saw that they serve oysters on Google Maps. Unfortunately, they weren’t serving them and I didn’t see them in the menu. The plate I ordered was a rice with seafood, a great option and a huge portion, I couldn’t finish it. I had a draft beer, which was not cold enough to my taste.
My waitress was super nice and attentive.
The view I had from here was amazing. There are options for sitting inside, outside, and some nice windows with air conditioning available too. This is a very decent place for having a meal. A little expensive but I think it’s worth it.
It the tables and windows were cleaner it would be great!
The parking system could be a little confusing. My advice is: park, have in mind your plate number, don’t scan or pay anything before entering the restaurant, when you are in the restaurant they will provide you with a QR code where you have to enter your info and give you 3 hours of free parking.

Best Shem Creek View!

Beautiful waterfront spot with amazing food and laid-back vibes!

I had the Western Smash Burger and the Grilled Salmon BLT Sandwich—both were absolutely delicious. The burger was juicy with bold flavors, and the salmon was perfectly grilled, paired with crispy bacon and fresh greens.

Great service and a relaxing view made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Mount Pleasant!

As part of our visit to Isle of Palms beach and Shem Creek we called into Vickery’s for early dinner. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating with great views of the creek with its busy eateries and bars, lots of boats and people. Service was super friendly, attentive and fast. I had Cuban Sandwich with a side of Carolina red rice (my new favourite side!) and my partner had a smash burger with bacon and cheese with seasoned fries. Food was tasty and hot, not quite amazing but very nice – price is pretty much in line with most similar-type of grill bars. The atmosphere was great – we ate pretty early so it was fairly quiet when we arrived but it soon filled up – it had a great vibe about it, customers and staff all smiles. Would definitely visit again – perhaps next time I would try some seafood options as there were some nice dishes on the menu.

I truly enjoyed my visit here!! I walked in, immediately greeted with smiles and kindness, and my server carried the trend. Bethany was wonderful and truly on top of her game. The food was relatively quick for how busy it was, and delicious! But honestly my favorite part about the visit was my server, will be asking for her next time we come in! This place is such a good spot!!!
