Stumbled upon this place today on a stop-over on our way to Florida. It’s in a really cool little area, in what I believe is a former five-and-dime, and the people working there were as friendly as can be.
What I think is a great indicator as to how good a place is, is the number of locals going there. We were seated by the front, and it seemed as if everyone who came in was known by the staff. But that didn’t stop the nice lady who seated us (I think her name may have been Cheryl?) from coming over and asking where we were from and where we were headed, and sharing a bit of town gossip with us!
And the food – portions were very generous (and good!) and prices were very fair.
Really pleased with Main Street Grille, a wonderful local spot!

After a long trip from Miami to New York, we were starving and found a restaurant in South Carolina called Main Street. Let me tell you, the grilled salmon I ordered was delicious, accompanied by a side of mashed potatoes and a fresh salad that absolutely delighted me. I highly recommend it. The waitress and all the staff were excellent and very friendly. It’s a place I would recommend; the atmosphere was very welcoming, like being with family.

We had a great dinner at Main Street Grill before our son’s football game at Colleton High School. We sat at the bar and were well-attended to by the bartender. She was super friendly and offered us suggestions. She kept our drinks full, too. We had the buffalo shrimp appetizer, the salmon and mashed potatoes, and the tuna steak with vegetables. Everything was tasty, came out quickly, and the service was top notch throughout our meal. We will be back next time we are in Walterboro!

We took a gamble on the odd dish known as the “highwayman burger”. It’s something like a cross between a hamburger and a _good_ hamburger steak. (I’m tempted to compare it to a beef Wellington but I haven’t had one of those yet.) If you like beef I definitely recommend trying it at least once.
The cheesecake was one of the better ones I’ve had.
The owner was nice enough to give us coffee even though it wasn’t on the menu.
My only complaint would be that we didn’t get to finish watching Shrek because they changed it over to a football game.

The Main Street Bar & Grille restaurant is a Good choice for a late night cravings. I really like the all the american burger its a mist have delightful comfy food to enjoy. By the way the staff are super nice and friendly and great ambient..100% worth it.

I ordered a dish called the All American Burger, and it was absolutely delicious. The fries were crispy and flavorful, and the bacon added an exquisite taste. I highly recommend this dish; the staff is very attentive and friendly, and it’s a place that makes you feel like family.

The food is normally really good hear and the service. But today the waitress only cared about certain tables. 30 mins for a burger and some wings that was both over cooked. Shop and dine local folks!This bar and grille is near a very busy interchange where there is a national bar and grille chain located at the hwy interchange, but there was a 30 minute wait at the chain restaurant. We decided th drive into town and had a very nice diner with excellent service and wait.
