Big Dudes Big Foods
What does one do on the day between Ash Wednesday and Friday in the first week of Lent? Eat MEAT!!! If you are looking for a fantastic food oriented small business to accomplish this task, @the130shop has a menu full of meaty goodness. #The130Shop ‘s powers that be decided that @BigDudesBigFoods needed to try everything on menu! We started with the “French Dip” with plenty of au jus. Batting second was a delicious “Bacon Grilled Cheese” with cheddar & chihuahua cheese and some savory tomato soup for dipping. Joe & I hit up the “1/2. LB Meatball” samich next which was so good that you think that you are at a place that strictly makes meatball parm sandwiches. We tried the “130 Cheeseburger next with bacon lettuce and tomato . This double burger masterpiece is piled high and tasty too. As though there was any room on the table in came the “Buttermilk Fried Chicken ” with cherry peppers, coleslaw, pickles and sherry Aïoli. That is no ordinary chicken sandwich. Also in this cruise buffet rivaling feast was a “Chicago Style Hotdog “ with the works, perfectly cooked shoestring fries and crispy “tater tots.” There was not a bad bite in the bunch. My favorite was the Bacon Grilled Cheese and I think Joe’s was the 130 Cheeseburger but he also liked the horseradish sauce that came with the French Dip. Not that we want to disappoint our followers but there were doggy bags involved. The 130 Shop is really cool spot in Tenafly,NJ with a great staff and amazing chef. It’s part of a trio of establishments in the area with 130 Club and 130 Social. If you are ever in the area you’ve got to stop in. It’s only a half hour from Yankees Stadium if you want to grab a bite once you are back in NJ. #BigDudesBigFoods

I got a chance to stop into this spot for lunch! When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked into a cozy spot. I was served by Kyler and he was nice. I ordered:
Tator Tots
Chicago Style Hot Dog
130 Cheeseburger
Buttermilk Fried Chicken
I really loved the Hot Dog and those tots! All in all a really good experience!

Overall, this place was good but kind of expensive. I got the chance to tried their burger and fried chicken sandwich. I would probably not get their chicken sandwich again as it was very mid but their burger was pretty good. Their fries were also about average.

A nice little spin from the 130 Club located nearby. The atmosphere was good, with ample seating, basic decor and plenty of natural light. I loved the signage right when you walk in. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I ordered the Hot Dog, could have had two! I can wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Recommend highly.

I recently tried 130 Club and had mixed feelings about it. The food itself was good, but the prices were honestly pretty shocking for what you get.
I ordered the French dip and it was $32, which felt really excessive, especially since it doesn’t even come with fries. For comparison, you can go to Houston’s and get a better French dip, with fries included, for less money. Houston’s is honestly 10x better in terms of value and overall experience.
The burger we had was actually really good, but again it felt overpriced for a basic burger. Even the hot dog is $10, which just seems way too high for something so simple.
Overall, the food was good but nothing amazing, and definitely not at the price point they’re charging. If the prices were more reasonable, I’d consider coming back, but right now it’s hard to justify when there are better options nearby.

Great new addition to the area. I love the 130 club and I’ve always had a great time there, clearly the French dip is . I was very excited to see they were opening up a scaled-down sandwich only version of their great food. We had the chicken sandwich, the French dip, fries and tots. All were excellent and I can’t wait to go back.

Saw this place on social media, thought it was worth the hype so i went. I ordered the Bacon Grilled Cheese and got tomato soup on the side. The Grilled Cheese while yes the food is good quality just tasted like liquid smoke from the bacon. If i were to go back i would get it without the bacon. The tomato soup was served room temp and not too much flavor to it, also being at $8 and getting a tiny portion is way to over priced.

Tried the French dip – sorry – this is no more than a Philly cheese steak sandwich with some au jus. In other words some chopped up well done roast beef on a roll plus 4 oz of watered down beef base. Do restaurant owners ever taste what they put on a menu ?

The Dip sandwich is tender flavorful and delicious! But is it $32 dollars delicious? That is the 32 dollar question. My answer is sorta but not really. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great sandwich, nice flavor, good size, but this isn’t Katzs in NYC. This sandwich is on the pricy side. Next time I will try the pork or one of the more reasonably priced options. Although, if you have $32 burning in your pocket there are certainly worse ways to spend it. The au jus and horseradish were nice accompaniments. For a side I got the fries which came with ketchup and truffle mayo. Fries were excellent, nice and crispy! Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.
