This casual spot is a fantastic find, especially with its great daily food and drink specials. Don’t let the relaxed, unfancy atmosphere fool you; the food was absolutely awesome and prepared with real care. It’s the perfect place for a delicious, satisfying meal without needing to dress up or spend a fortune.

I had high expectations for a nice night out and made reservations in advance, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.
Service was extremely slow and inattentive. Our appetizers took a long time to arrive…and eventually our appetizer plates and my empty wine glass sat at the edge of the table for quite a while, and our server never checked back… I waited patiently and eventually had to ask him for another glass of wine when he finally returned.. When the food finally came, several items were incorrect or missing.

I ordered the filet with a lobster tail and requested mushrooms and onions on the steak as well as ordering it “B.I.G Style”. The toppings never came, but they were still included on the bill. The Brussels hash were underseasoned and bland, and the au gratin potatoes were mostly liquid with cheese on top rather than a properly prepared side.

When asked how everything was, I calmly expressed that the dining experience was underwhelming due to the lack of attentive and professional service. No effort was made to correct the issues. I did share my concerns respectfully, paid the bill in full, and extended the same courtesy to our server despite the experience.
For the price point, I expected FAR better food quality and service… I will be taking my business elsewhere and would not recommend this restaurant based on this visit.

Off the beaten path cool old-school restaurant. We booked a reservation off a website recommendation and weren’t disappointed. The food was simple and really good. The steaks were cooked perfectly and seasoned really well and the sides were all solid. They are as good as you’ll get at this price point and would not hesitate to order them again. I opted for the meatloaf at the waiters suggestion because they grind their own meat mix off the steak trimmings. It was uniquely good, a bit different than anything I’ve had and very enjoyable. The BBQ sauce they serve with it it’s really good but next time would get it on the side as their was a lot of it and it was strong and a bit too much for me. The salads, onion rings & bread were solid. The chicken dishes were a bit simple and on the bland side but just fine. The service was fine and the decor could use some updating but reminiscent an old family restaurant. Our family had a really nice time and would definitely go back.

Don’t order a ribeye. Ordered it medium well and came out burnt to a crisp. My mom also ordered a well done steak, for health reasons it had to be cooked all the way through, and it was also extremely burnt. I tried my steak at last to see if I could tolerate it but it was very tough and tasted awful. I asked the server if I could get a steak that wasn’t so burnt and he said that’s how they are made on their grill if you order a medium well or well done. No offer to have it remade. “That’s just the way it is here.” Ummm, I’ve been to many steak houses in my almost 40 years of life always ordering medium well with slight pink center and have NEVER gotten a completely burned steak like this. Maybe slightly charred around the edges, but never burned over almost every inch of the surface. $40 for a leathery piece of steak and tasteless vegitable side is not worth it. Gave 2 stars because service was good besides that interaction and I asked them to make another steak medium so I could take it home and cook it at least.

Went for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner on Saturday. We had a total of 4 people and everyone loved it. I was looking for a nicer steakhouse that wasn’t crazy expensive. This place is GREAT! huge steaks. I got the 18 oz bone in ribeye and my boyfriend got the 22oz porterhouse. We both got the side salad, the white French was AMAZING. I wish I could buy a whole bottle. The bread and honey butter was great. The bread was very fresh and soft. The mash potatoes were good and the mushrooms and glaze was different. Steaks were $40 plus mushrooms and 2 alcoholic beverages was $100 before tip. Not bad at all for quality of steaks. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I chose the Black Iron Grill for our 6th wedding anniversary—our “iron” year—hoping for a special night out. As parents of a toddler, we only get a couple of chances each year to go out—Valentine’s Day and our anniversary—so we were genuinely looking forward to this evening.

When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was nearly empty—just a few tables occupied and some people at the bar. That probably should’ve been our first clue.

We started with the bacon-wrapped scallops, which were okay, but a few seemed undercooked.

I ordered a ribeye steak, but was told they were sold out—second red flag. I went with a strip steak instead, requesting it medium. What I received was barely cooked—closer to rare and had the appearance of raw tuna. My wife ordered the shrimp and lobster stuffed haddock with Brussels sprout hash. The Brussels sprouts were completely burnt on the outside, and the “stuffing” was a dense, dry bread ball with no visible shrimp or lobster.

To be clear, our server was very nice and attentive. She had nothing to do with our poor experience and did her best with what she had to work with. We told her we were disappointed with the meal and she asked us multiple times if she could do anything or send any food back, but we really just wanted to leave.

Our server must’ve spoken to their manager about giving us a discount and took $8 off of our bill, and while I wasn’t looking for a handout and appreciated the $8 credit our bill was nearly $90, so the discount didn’t even amount to 10%. It felt like a token gesture more than a genuine effort to make things right.

The owner/manager/person in charge—who never came to our table—spoke from three tables away while working on his laptop and said, “Oh, I heard it wasn’t great—sorry about that.” It felt awkward and dismissive, especially given the occasion.

This was supposed to be a memorable night for us, and unfortunately, it was—for all the wrong reasons. We won’t be back.

Who is in this kitchen!? There haven’t been many places where me and my husband have walked out and said, “Wanna come back tomorrow?”
From the appetizer to the dessert it was all delicious. We ate inside which honestly, kind of smells odd, maybe like an older building but that quickly goes away. We had calamari for the appetizer. They’re fried and perfectly seasoned. Whatever the sauce is that comes with it, try it. The salads were good portion sizes. The scallops could’ve been cooked longer but I like mine overdone so there’s that. Again, whatever that sauce is for the scallops, try it.
We were warned that everything is made fresh (LOVE THIS) so the food takes longer but our food came out faster than it does at other restaurants so there was no problem there.
The cheesecake with fresh berries came out nice and hot so yeah, try that too

We’re new to the area and recently got take out. Very rarely does a restaurant make your take out order perfect, and Black Iron Grille did just that. Steaks were cooked to exact temps. If the take out is this good, we can’t wait to stop in for a sit down meal. Highly recommend.

Cute little place. Love the outside cat Rhianna!

Food was okay.. the steaks are a little on the salty side and we barely touched our food, sadly. We took it home and rinsed the salt off to eat it the next day. Bread and butter, yum, and mozzarella sticks and beer battered mushrooms also yum!

Drinks were good, and the staff was friendly!

The male server with tattoos that we had was super nice, and even went out of his way to accommodate my request of garlic sauce for my steak, and was very quick with the refills! Great service all around, definitely will be back, he deserves a raise!
