I ordered the chicken sandwich and fries for takeout and did not check the food before leaving. When I got home, I noticed the burger was burnt to absolute oblivion, completely inedible. I took one bite and couldn’t stomach it. The cheese fries were also overcooked and were browned from being cooked in filthy grease and caked in brown spots from dirty oil. This is not a well run or decent restaurant, do not eat here.

Was excited to try this new burger joint out, especially one that purports to have an olde fashioned inspired menu. Got a burger, chicken sandwich, and a milkshake. Cost $35 bucks. Gotta say, this place could really have done better with everything. When i got there, a cashier at the front window took my order. I paid by card and tipped them six bucks with cash. No “thank you” or anything, but rather just stared at me when i tapped ‘no tip’ in the tablet. The shake came out pretty quickly, but i waited around for 35 minutes for the two sandwiches. Both times my items came out, they called the wrong name for the order, so twice i had to go up and clarify if it was for me. The shake was remarkably small, basically a single cup (like 8 or 9oz total). It is the equivalent size of a water cup you would get from anywhere. Now I’ve never heard of a place putting straight up lays potato chips on top of a milkshake before, but it did add some crunchy texture to it. I got my sandwiches and was looking forward to trying them. Honestly, these were 100% not worth it. You could make way better burgers at home. The beef patty lacked any flavor, and the lettuce wasn’t crispy at all, but was all rubbery like it had been sitting on the hot meat for a while. I scraped off the toppings, ate it, and moved on to the chicken sandwich. This was really disappointing since it consisted of a few chicken tenders you could buy from the grocery store frozen department, and had a slice of cheap cheese on top of it. Same with the buns of both sandwiches: as plain and generic as can be. This is basically cafeteria food you would get served at a school or hospital being passed off as restaurant quality. Not the type of food one would expect from a brand new dining establishment, especially for the price. As far as burger shops downtown go, there’s a pretty low bar that’s been set. This place is par for the course. I can’t recommend it.

There’s a New Place On 7th Guys! Servin up Burgers shakes and fries!
We walked in and were welcomed by Friendly Workers.
They just Newly Opened 3 days ago, So they’re still adjusting and adding new things to the menu. I worked in the food industry for a while, so i know how it goes when a restaurant first opens. SO NO COMPLAINTS. For us it was Like walking in to meeting new family for the first time.
And they were Really hospitable to us.

What We Ordered:

We ordered a Speciality Milk shake. It was called Strawberry & Madagascar Vanilla topped with potato chip crumbles.
I was caught by surprise..
The combination of Vanilla & Strawberry was sweet perfection. THE strawberry hands down was Winning.
The chip crumbles added some crunch & salt to it that made it a sweet & salty goodness!

They Gave us Fries on the house. The fries are cooked in Beef Tallow. They were Crinkle cut fries that were crispy.
Not to Shabby.
It didnt taste oily like some places.

a Single CHEESEBURGER delux
Was bout $12 plus 3 bucks give or take to make it delux.
Not a bad price considering downtown has higher prices. I’ve had burgers at $35 a pop at other places.
*What did it taste like you ask??
-It had white cheddar & american cheese
-Rita’s Sauce
(Was light Not thick)
Was different flavors than your usual thousand island burger sauce.
I could be wrong but the flavors we picked up on were
A light vinaigrette, & a hint of what we thought was a stone-ground mustard flavor.
-The Onions were grilled.
-Lettuce was shredded.
– THE BACON= a good crunchy bacon. I read the reviews.. someone said it was Bacon bits??what i tasted was actual Bacon. i would say i didnt have One problem tasting Bacon All around. The Bacon Was a Great Taste Combined with the cheese and Pickles.
Thats actually what i loved the most.
It was very flavorful.
“How long did our order take you ask?”
-Took about 5 Minutes to get our burger. Fastest time I’ve had at a burger joint.
Also the meat was cooked to perfection.
To get a meatier burger go for the double or triple right off the jump!
*I would just say NO COMPLAINTS about this burger, but Next time im gonna have to try that “DOUBLE.”
-it also had chopped Cherry peppers.

What i think could be improved :
Is the amount Of sauce they used.
I love when burgers have a bangin house sauce.
But Too Me A Toasted Bun Is what gets me. One that can with stand the added Sauce.
Ritas has a Unique flavored house sauce, i love it, but since the consistency is not thick, less is more in my book or the bread will become soggie upon delivery. Not hating on that sauce guys cause to me it was good.
I love the Amount of Vegtables!!
Packed full of veggies is a win for me.
The carmalized onions were good but it was The chopped cherry peppers that makes us think that there’s an Italian influence here. Hmmm could be… maybe? We gotta ask.
Ritas Won my heart & I’m Really PICKY when it comes to burgers.
Not gonna Lie I WANTED tht double. But i had already eaten when i came across this place, so my stomach was full.
I was Satisfied 100% & glad i tried. I’m gonna take my son to lunch there tomorrow. I know he’ll dig it.

Although we didn’t try it,
They make a fried chicken sandwich. They also have a specials that is currently A Tuna melt. They also Fried cheese Curds.
-They do offer an impossible burger for Vegetarians
We Seen A Picture of a Chicago Hot Dog in a frame above the Cooks, that may foreshadow what is to come.
Im excited for that.

Environment

*Rita’s a Classic Burger joint with a Diner feel.
It is a Small Place.
Bout 6-8 chairs with a window Nook to stand in for right now.
There were black tables to sit outside.

*You can Order and pay inside.
This is a good spot to stop and grab burgers on the Go.

*They have hats, shirts and merchandise for sale.

Thank you Rita’s for Welcoming us in for a bite of a Great tasting burger. We’ll be back!
(Gonna get that double n a shake. )

Maybe don’t open up yet if you’re not ready.

Order: double deluxe burger, chicken, sandwich, fries and cheese curds, Rita’s sauce.
$45

Double deluxe burger: I think it was boiled. Absolutely no sear on it. Barely a quarter of a piece of bacon on my sandwich. Sad lettuce and tomato. It reminded me of 3 AM Whataburger. I did not finish.

Chicken sandwich: razor, thin, chicken, cutlet that resembles chicken jerky. Incredibly dry. Wife only ate half of it and is now mad at me. Thanks Obama

Fries and cheese curds: They actually had good flavor, but they were soggy. I tried them right when they gave them to me and there was almost no crunch. Also, for $8 they were tiny. About the size of a dollar fry from McDonald’s.

If we call an In-N-Out double a 5/10 and For the Win 9/10 Rita’s comes in at a solid 2/10. It’s only redeeming factor being that you could taste that at one time the beef was probably decent quality.

Sorry to have to do this but honesty is what most reviews are lacking.

The food is full of flavor and you can taste the love. Nostalgic vibes very comfy. Chef Luke was warm, welcoming and kind. We got the triple burger, tuna melt, chicken sandwich, fries and curds, and a milkshake made with Madagascar vanilla, strawberries and potato chips. We were total gluttons but worth every bite. We can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been there once before and I really liked it. But your Google page said that you were open today. I walked several blocks in the hot, hot heat, only to arrive to a shut down burger joint. Hope you guys are still in business. Fix your Google page! And I will be back because I like your burger!

First time here the “Chicago hotdog” was on stale buns and soggy in the middle to the point that it fell apart the moment we picked them up.

Being from Chicago, we gave them a second chance & hoped for better.

Nope.

Walked in to find one one customer waiting for a burger, and yet it took 20 minutes to get a hotdog and coke. Once again, the bread was dry and stale and ice cold. I asked the lady behind the counter if it could be warmed or remade and she said no.

Would never recommend Rita Drlux to anyone. Horrible food and even worse customer service.
