Riviera Mexican Cantina features a lovely outdoor patio with a view of the marina, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The scenery is quite beautiful. The restaurant shares a large parking lot with other beachfront restaurants, making it easy to find parking.

The parking fee is $10, but some establishments offer validation for the first two hours.

Upon entering, we received a warm welcome and, since we arrived during happy hour, we were promptly served. The restaurant was not very crowded, so our drink orders were taken quickly.

We enjoyed a lemon drop and a classic margarita, both of which were excellent.

We sampled several dishes from the menu, and the portion sizes were reasonable, while the food was delicious.

Pricing is slightly on the higher side, but considering the location and portion sizes, it feels justified.

I would recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

A nice place with a stunning view of the bay. It’s very cozy and comfortable to sit on the terrace, and it’s quite romantic for a date. The music is good and not too loud, creating a pleasant atmosphere—you can talk and hear each other perfectly well.

The food is good and fresh, but rather ordinary—it doesn’t really impress, as if something is missing. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. It’s a great place for a relaxed dinner, but not for a true gastronomic experience.

Overall, a good place that I would recommend

This happening Mexican Cantina is right on the water just oceanside of Captain Kidds… they always seem to be fully booked and it is easy to see why with great food at reasonable prices for this area. Our server Monze gave us the best recommendations and outstanding service. The shrimp taquitos were amazing loaded with big shrimp.. huge shrimp to tortilla ratio and great flavor. The steak enchiladas were really delicious.. asada was very tender and not too salty which I appreciate. The roasted chicken was very tender and the sauce was not spicy but very flavorful and matched the chicken perfectly. The views are beautiful here and they have an oceanfront patio to catch the sunset. We finished our meal with the flan which was the perfect texture and not too sweet.. just perfect. This is a really fun place to eat and have a drink.. they also have a private space for rental functions and some live music and events posted out front.. make a reservation because they can get busy and wait times can be long for walk ins.

First time here. I had the Riviera Burrito with Carne Asada. The burrito was large, and very filling. The meat was cooked perfectly. Excellent meal with great flavor. The complementary chips and salsa were very good too. Salsa was flavorful and fresh. Staff were friendly and engaging. Looked like a great view if you to choose to sit on the patio. I’ll definitely return here.

On 5/24/25 I stopped in for lunch. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and carnitas tacos. The menu listed the beer at $ 8.00 and tacos at $ 16.00 ( 3 tacos w/rice and beans ). When the tacos arrived there were only 2. When the bill arrived, beer was $9.00 and tacos were $ 17.00. For $ 2.00 dollars I did not mention it, but the difference just came out of the tip because the bartender did not inform me of the differences in advance. Food was okay, no complaints there. I Will Not Be Back Though.

* * * * To reply to the owners reply – I took 2 pictures of the menu where the prices are wrong. If I was handed an outdated menu from the bar tender, not my fault. When I locate them on my phone, they will be added to the review. Still not going to return to your cantina. * * * * *

I attended my friend’s birthday party in one of their private rooms. It was spacious, the set up was nice and there was plenty of room to dance. Hor’dours were served for the first hour or so but I could only eat 2 of the many items served. They should definitely offer more options for people who have food allergies such as beef and pork. The dinner consisted of a taco bar with rice and beans. The beans and rice were delicious. However, the chicken was diced up into medium size cubes and it was a bit dry. My recommendation would be to use moist and well-seasoned shredded chicken. Additionally, guacamole would have been appreciated as well as another flavor of taco sauce. The taco bar was skimpy and limited. Lastly, although the food was paid in advance, the policy of the restaurant for private parties is the host is not allowed to take the left over food which is quite ridiculous especially since the food will be thrown out. Such a waste of money and food. Overall, the venue is perfect for all types of parties but their policy needs some adjustments and the chicken needs more flavor. These are the only two reasons I would not host a party/event at Riviera Mexican Cantina.

We were here last night and food+service+atmosphere all amazing! Our server Emily was awesome. Effortlessly served us and made us feel so comfortable.
The only reason I rated overall experience as 4 stars is because we did not finish our food and took a box, which we ended up forgetting in the restaurant. We went back 10 minutes later & were told it’s been thrown away Left the whole evening & dinner experience a little disappointed I agree our fault for forgetting the box but they could have kept it for atleast an hour if not till closing. But still highly recommend

We had a lot of friends and family travel into town for my sister‘s baby shower last weekend and needed a place to eat that would accommodate 20 people the night before the shower. Riviera Cantina offered to help right away and we are so glad we went with this option. Service was fantastic. Our waitress was phenomenal and so were the sweet food runners. We had 20 people and everything was lightning fast. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious and prices are very fair. My Dad (who paid the bill) always finds a reason to complain about the restaurants I choose for us to go to. This time he walked out saying I made a great choice. 10/10 recommend!!

We thought we were going to go to a touristy restaurant with it being right off the pier. But this was some of the best food we’ve had in quite some time (not just best Mexican – best food). My husband and I shared the molcajete and it was delicious! Highly recommend.
