I went to The Mercury Bar because I was craving onion rings and a good burger. I found both there. I ordered The Flint Burger from their substantial burger menu which came with green olives, cheese, mayo and I added bacon. It was the perfect combination of salty, oozy and savory. I gobbled it up and forgot to get a picture. The atmosphere is informal and it is the perfect place to enjoy with two or a group. The service was prompt and courteous but not hovering. I can’t wait to go again and try one of their milkshakes which come in an interesting assortment of Detroit based flavors.

Burger was good, that’s about it.

For years I’ve been told I have to try Mercury Bar. Well, after a half hour wait to get in we were seated in the basement. Terrible echo and impossible to have a conversation.

My water had something in the bottom of the cup, good thing I don’t go to a bar for water.

We had to wipe crumbs and a piece of meat off the table after sitting.

Tots were eh. Heard how great they were. Nope.

Service was slow and mediocre. Being in the basement was out of sight out of mind. When our drinks are empty and we have to wait to order another, and then the bill comes before the 2nd drink…I won’t be back.

We tried it and it didn’t meet the hype. A shame because the burger was really good, but not good enough to wait outside a half hour for.

Parking? Really need kiosks that you can pay at. Using an app sucks! Especially when it freezes up.

I’m convined the city intentionally makes paying for parking difficult to write tickets.

Love the electric fun vibe of Mercury Bar. The food is comforting bar food that makes for a great meal after exploring the wonders of Detroit. The fried bologna sandwich with melted guyere, Caramelized onions, and Dijon mustard pleases the palate with a fresh upscale taste. For Detroit Hudson nostalgia the Maurice salad hits the mark. A shout out to our waiter, Ross who made our meal better with his friendliness, humor and superb service. Also, the drinks were great and the bar even made a special request drink from a recipe we wanted to try. Way to go Mercury!

Best of the best, crème de la crème. This was a hands down 5 star burger and 5 star experience enhanced by the man Christian. Thank you very much for making us feel welcome and the food is outstanding. We’ll be back very soon.

Detroit area’s BEST Burger!!!
You’re welcome, if you haven’t been yet… if you love a great burger, get into Mercury Bar!
Delicious sides, maybe the best coney dog in the city… and the back patio in the summer… just amazing!
Across from Slows Bar-B-Q, and in front of Michigan train station.
We go down to Merc at least every other week.
Great staff, great atmosphere, and amazingly delicious food.

YOWZER! What a hidden gem in downtown Detroit! Got the recommendation from the info desk at Michigan Central Easy walk to the restaurant. The food was absolutely incredible. Homemade burgers! So, so, so good. Service was superb and friendly. Atmosphere is extremely cozy for a true neighborhood bar and grill. Good menu selections, patrons sociable and staff truly stands out as welcoming professionals. I had the bacon cheddar and my wife choosing the truffle burger. Good prices, good food and good fun. Parking seemed to be ample and plenty of room. Looks like there is also an outside dining area for better weather times. Great place to visit when downtown or just hankering for that burger fix.

Came down on a late Sunday afternoon
No room in small lot but found street parking since free on Sundays. 3 of us had burgers which were good. Beef is great, not frozen and fresh toppings. My grilled cheese ok w/ Texas toast. I’d probably go burger next time. And shoulda tried one of those adult shakes.

I had a cucumber gin-based drink that was refreshingly delicious but definitely strong. I ordered the truffle burger, it was lightly seasoned, but the extra aioli gave it the flavor I was looking for. Overall, I wasn’t impressed enough to go back.
