My favorite restaurants are like Westchester Inn. The food is authentic as well as the atmosphere.
We had a wonderful meal here. Everything, including the bread and soup, was absolutely delicious. We had beef noodle soup for starters. It was warm and fresh and oh so delicious. Svickova and Roast Loin of Pork were the dinners we chose. The sides were dumplings, potato salad, and sauerkraut. All of the sides were mighty tasty. The Svickrova and Roast Loin of Pork contained large pieces of succulent pork and gravies that were so amazing. A piece of coffee cake finished off our lovely meals. This restaurant is awesome and I wish there were more like it.

We’ve been going to this restaurant for years. The food is outstanding. Huge portions. Today I had the fruit dumplings, larger size with 4 dumplings, two were plum and two were peach. Half a fruit in each dumpling. I passed on the side of cottage cheese. Added cinnamon, plus they came with butter and sugar already on them. Make a reservation. Or go during off hours. Five of us got there during the week at 1pm and it was perfect. Otherwise, the place gets packed, loud, and cramped. Well worth it, though, if you have a taste for bohemian food.

Original: In all fairness I probably would have given Westchester Inn 5 stars but it wasn’t open on a Wednesday as stated on google maps when I arrived, so couldn’t taste the food. Checked for the hours in advance of planning a luncheon date with my 90 yr old aunt who I take out to lunch occasionally. She really wanted to go there. It looked a little dark in the window so didn’t want her to get out of the car and walk to door if not open. Decided to call from car and sure enough recording said was on vacation. I did appreciate the recorded message.I get it; restauranteurs need vacation too – just want to let others know this is a family business and if driving far or making a special luncheon date you may want to call. We ended up just eating next door at this point. Will try and return some other time and re-do my rating later.

Everyone liked the taste of the food they ordered. Chicken, schnitzel, breaded, pork tenderloin, and roast pork. My wife LOVED the cucumber salad that came as her desert.
The Kolosky was very tasty also.
I was very disappointed that the potato dumplings were not ready considering we arrived at 1:45 PM. I just don’t understand this. The gravy was also a little on the weaker side however, the gravy they gave us to take home was thicker and had more flavor.
I will give this another try. Hopefully they have the potato dumplings next time.

Have eaten at Westchester Inn several times and have not been disappointed in the quality of their food. This visit was 3 of us; I have the duck/pork tenderloin combo (sorry failed to take a picture of the pork tenderloin, it didn’t last long and it takes up half the plate)!, another had the half duck and the 3rd grandma’s pork. As in the past it was delicious! Each meal comes with the following: soup, sides, dessert, bread, crackers, and gravy. Go with the NATURAL gravy (grease drippings) to really add to your meal. I had the liver soup, bread dumplings, sauerkraut and bread, all delicious. Including soft drinks/coffee our bill was $95 for 3. Well worth the trip and you will have leftovers!

Good bohemian food. It’s one of a kind in the Chicago area. Food prices have gone up but good sized portions. I love the smoked butt and duck combo. Ask they will do it for you for an upcharge.

The Westchester Inn has been around as long as I can remember, and I hope my kids can say the same. This is a picture perfect neighborhood hidden gem. The food is always fresh, good, and plenty. Very consistent, and very satisfying.
